ok, so from what few articles I've been able to find, I see that the fwd hubs are actually an upgrade from the awd hub. Well, I have a bent passenger side hub, and need to replace it. Since I have no supply of awd cars in my local junk yard, yet a dozen or so fwd ones, I guess this will be the route to go (this yard is cheap; $15 per hub, which beats any other yard I've seen advertised on the net). Anyway, since I'm going this route, I have a couple of questions:
1) What hubs do I need? I know that the control arms for any 2.0 are the same, yet the 1.8 is different, so what about the hubs? will any of them work?
2) What will I also need besides the hubs to properly install them? Any other additonal parts? I haven't seen a vfaq on this (maybe I should write one?)
3) This has nothing to do with the hubs, but I also bent the passenger strut, will a fwd strut work, or must I use an awd strut? If it will, I intend to pull this off and use it until I have the money for my planned suspension upgrade (there are some cars out at my yard with surprisingly low miles). If I can but need to use both sides of the fwd stuts, thats ok too (changing the clutch next weekend, so half the suspension is being dropped anyway)
Any help would be much appreciated
