Okay... I bought this 92 Talon awd 5 speed about a month ago, and it didn't run before I bought it. My palm logger is showing the fuel pump code 42. However, I've replace the sending unit, fuel pump, filter, injectors, and fuel pressure regulator. I've checked the voltage at pin 13 of the ecu(12+v), voltage and ground at the sending unit are good, fuel pump kicks on when being cranked, the mfi relays good, compression is 155 in all 4 cylinders, its getting fuel and spark, timing is fine, and the person before me replaced the capacitiors. It does start, runs ruff, and will only stay running when I feather the throttle. Everything seems to be pointing me back to the ecu. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!

Low ruff idle, and then dies. Probably runs no more then 3-5 seconds.

Just took the top off the ecu, and the caps have been replaced, and I can't see any real damage to the board.

Checked the tps yesterday, and everything checked out. I checked the isc motor checked out, and coolant temp sensor has been replaced. My data logger say "42 fuel pump".

if you know your getting fuel and spark I would check to make sure your maf is connected and you don't have any major intake leaks. not sure that is the proper direction to head in but my maf was unplugged one time and it would idle high for a second then die instantly.

Brand new maf, and its plugged in. I cleaned the throttle body out yesterday too. Did a boost leak check, and didn't find any leaks. One thing I haven't checked is my 02 sensor, but it still doesn't explain the fuel pump code being on... Also it doesn't stay in the ecu, it clears off when I turn the key off, and doesn't show back up until I start the car. Not sure if that matters.

Found the problem. Ecu! thanks!
