Its not store bought I know that. I would say cut a whole in your headlight all the way through...I would do it in the high beams section, so you dont get pulled over at night for running all the time with high beams, or not having one low beam side. Also you would want to most likly warm up some clear plastic, and kind of melt it to the inside, so water and air doesnt get inside the headlight section, but just goes straight through to the air filter. last summer we had like 2 weeks of high 90s, and low 100s, so I took that headlight out during the day, and kept it in my car, with some tools, so I could put it back in at night:).

If there isn't one up by the time I do it, I will make one...or I might just do it as a test for future reference on my old set of headlights.

You could probably find one from a differeny model car and use it as I've seen it done on supra's and evo's as well.

I just went and ditched the entire light.

Do you drive on the street with your car like that Kyle? Or do you put the headlight back in when you take it to the street, I would think it would be illegal to drive like that at night, due to one headlight being out. Yes I have seen it done on EVOSs as well, I saw it done to an EVO that had the headlights smoked, and it looked super sexy (I will be smoking the headlights, and taillights, as well as painting the car all black...can you say super sleeper for the night). I will be making a hole in my headlight so that when I am on the street I can get some good flow to air filter, but I would just pull the headlight for when going to the track...I was also thinking about custom welding the 4" intake pipe so it would put the filter in the spot where the passenger side fog light would be (I eliminated them on mine), and keep the whole in the headlight to promote cool air flow into the engine bay, and shim the rear side of the hood so the hot air can be pushed out that way by the cool air rushing in.

Does Anybody Know Where To Look For A Front Diffuser For A 1ga Like In The Picture With The Blue Dsm? I Would Love To Know. It Looks Sick!:d

His was custom made, but you can buy universal ones all over. Vis, Seibon, RaceOnUsa, and Carbontrix all sell universal ones.

with the universal one's, would u have to make adjustment to make it fit, like maybe shaving the sides or rounding the corners? and does it come with the arms? and just a question, when you have a front diffuser like that wouldnt it be better to have the littles shocks on it so that i with adjust itself to the type of driving?

Adjusts itself? Not sure I'm following why you'd want it too or how a set of "shocks" is going to allow that to happen.

Each universal splitter is different depending on who you get it from, but I'd expect to have to make some changes as that's why they call them universal.

hey mavisky, looks like we both have the same idea;)

How much are the carbon trix hoods with the vents ? I couldn't find a price on the website. Do you all think it's best to leave headlight covers the color of the car or to get carbon covers ?

Hey mavisky is that snow from recently? I want snow for Christmas!!!! :(

Brad :)

No that's from last winter, that's why the hood's stock in that photo. It's 47 and raining here now, nasty weather.

I love mine, just make sure and add some hood pins. I put mine where the round flat spots were by the radiator. Oh and have fun getting all that tape residue off, that's stuff's a pain WTF

Carbontrix doesn't sell the hoods with the vents in place. I don't even think they market a 1g hood although I'm sure they'll make you one. It's cheaper to get one from VIS, Seibon, or RaceOnUsa and then add the vent.

Headlight covers? That's up to you. I just run a seperate set of headlights.

Mavisky, I have a question to ask you. I really like your carbon fiber hood style. Is it safe for the rain/snow? I see many cars with functional hood vents, scoops and what not. Just like the Evos and WRXs. How do they go about on rainy days? And how do you manage on a snowy or rainy day? Isn't large amounts of water going to damage or ruin something?

Thank you very much

jorge

Yea I run it in the rain constantly. That last pic was from a rained event. the vent drains inbetween the manifold and the radiator and on any rainy day that area gets soaked anyways. Most people wouldn't believe the amount of water that enters the engine bay on a rainy day from underneath, the radiator, and all the cracks surrounding the engine bay even without a vented hood.

I don't think that my car would look good with a carbon hood, i guess i could paint 1. what do u all think

Yea that blue Talon with the cf hood and the lip on the first page was so damn hard.
I am interested in fabbing up something similar to his lip he used, and even the headlight idea if I dont end up running a cold air into into the smic fender..Does anyone know the person with that sexy blue Talon? Im sure hes on Tuners...
