My oil plug fell out of the oil pan on the highway last night. I was doing 60mph 3000rpm when my oil light came on, 2 seconds later i heard RRRrrrr. So i turned of the car off right away. :notgood:

Than it wouldn't start and noticed there is 0 oil in it. Smoke was coming out the valve cover cap hole. OMG

What is the worst case/best case senario? Turning the crank by hand, will go one way and stop, and not the other.

What can i do to check the bottom end? What is the usual suspect bent rod, or melted piston? Timin Belt is okay so do you think my head is shot too?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

do a compression check, fill it up with oil, turn it over a few times, start the car if it makes any noise kill it, pull out your check book and bend over :thumb:, if you shut it down as soon as the oil light came on you may be ok, it might just have burned up the rings, the compression check will tell you if anything is off, should be between 140 and 170 across for a first gen a little higher isnt a prob lower than 140 could be bad.

Thats another problem i forgot to mention, will not crank over. I hear the starter for 1 second and thats it. I had 165 all across the board for compression, there that goes.

if you have 165 across, hmmm let me think for a second. Well what does it sound like when it turns over, does the starter just stop, pull the plugs out and turn it over a few times, does it act like it wants to fire but does not, or does it just spin and sound like there is no combustion?

Starter just stops right away. I pulled the plugs and still wont spin period. I wish i could do a compression check right now.

First things to Sieze are Front Balance Shaft Bearings & Cam Shaft & Turbo Bearings, my next bet would be Rod Bearings - I'd pull Valve Cover FIRST & inspect a Cam Bearing & see if cams are free, if not Head is DOA so pull it, when you pull Head it will be evident if Pistons are welded to Cylinder Walls - If Head is good then drop Oil Pan & check Rod Bearings & inspect, if Rod Bearings are wiped but Crank is OK you are on a Hot Streak - Then pull Timing Cover & cut front BS Belt & see if it will spin just in case you got lucky & can fix this with a BSE Kit & some Rod Bearings - If that doesn't free it up jerk Front Case, Oil Pump should tell the story - It's POSSIBLE that Block is still good.
