So my problem is that my car wont shift into 2nd or 4th gear. I was looking around the transmission the other day and found that the sensor I've attached in the picture was pushed into the trans. I tried pulling out but couldn't. Does anyone have an idea of what this is and where I can get a replacement?

This is REALLY weird, Oops this is an auto, but it looks to me like a serious issue... If no one here has any help for you I wouldn't drive it again AT ALL, before taking it to a transmission shop asap, or dropping it and inspecting yourself.

That is the harness for some of the wires that control your transmission. You are missing the circlip that holds it in place. it is a more or less flat piece of metal, shaped like a "U". The inside edges of the U fit into into a groove on the rubber grommet.

Push the wires in too far and they may get caught on gear selector pawl whateverthehellitis
or become disconnected
Keep yanking on it and something might get disconnected,
and you don't want that.
But the most important reason to fix it is
dirt will get into transmission
and then you will really be sorry.

This vid very informative

It looks like it has been like that for more than a minute. You should replace the filter and fluid at the very least.

That plug has a plastic clip on both sides. There is no circlip for that one. It's the wiring for the shift solenoids.
I'd pull the pan and change the filter and pop the fitting back into place.
Check the wiring to the solenoids while your in there.
