I recently installed a Viper 350 into my laser and took alot of pictures so I could write a tech article about how to install an alarm on a 1g including doing it with a turbo timer.

Now what I want to ask about is if the brown/white wire is the unlock wire or lock wire.

Both 12volt and commandoalarms says that the brown/white wire is unlock (- polarity), so i wired up the - unlock to brown/white and - lock to brown/blue as directed and the alarm did the opposite so i simply cut and switched the alarm wires, no biggie. I just want to make sure I have the correct info to put into the tech article since my door wires were the opposite of what 12volt said it should be.

Thanks

According to Directechs (Directed Electronics wiring page) brown/white is negative unlock, and brown/blue is negative lock. Are you sure that you used the correct lock and unlock wires? On directed systems, Green is negative lock/positive unlock and blue is negative unlock/positive lock.

I will recheck it today, but i swear I after having to switch it I have blue going to brown/blue and then green going to brown/white. Now the car was originally manual doors and was converted to power doors, maybee something got put in backwards?

I suppose that's a possibility, but I would think that there wouldn't be wiring for power door locks if the car originally came with manual locks. But you never know with car companies... the bottom of the line KIA's don't come with radios, but they come with speakers...
