Hey, I've searched the board since I thought this was a common question but still I could not figure it out!

My friend has a 1G Eclipse and he bought a short-ram intake, however when he came over to install it, we saw a sensor in the way! What is that sensor?

Right now, he is running with the aftermarket intake and that sensor in the airbox is removed! So far, only the CEL triggered and the car bogged when he first turned on but it runs fine!

Is it okay to run like this? Can some one give me some feedback if what we did is right?

I appreciate it! :dsm:

Your most likely talkin about the MAF sensor, you need to run that on your short ram intake, it should just bolt right up, your car will most likely run like ass if this is not connected, but im not sure of any other sensors on the intake....

I'm talking about a sensor next to the Can Box, that's the only sensor there is! So, do I have to hook it up to the eclipse's aftermarket intake? How do I do that?

yea thats the maf sensor you need that or your car will run like shit, it has to be on there
