There are two fittings for the AC. One is on the compressor. One is by the power steering reservoir. I cannot for the life of me find the right size fitting for the one near the PS reservoir. I have a ac gauge manifold that connects to both fittings, so I need both adapters. The compressor one screwed on just fine after I removed the valve stem. No fitting that I have found fits the other one.

arghhhhh I want cold AC!

If you're retrofitting the AC from the stock R12 to R134a then I would consider any auto store such as Pep Boys, Autozone etc. they sell a complete retrofit kit that includes both adaptors for approx $7 http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/803805/00314. I also believe they actually sell both fittings individually. Or just do what I did and had them retrofit the system for you after having it checked for leaks.

I was weary of the aluminum ones. I opted for the brass or plated steel ones. Advance auto parts and autozone are so damn disorganized. I ended up going to napa. Others in my situation will want the 3/16" red high side adapter for the one near PS res. The Low side off the compressor is 1/4" fitting. Turns out I have a massive leak near the condenser.
