I recently obtained a lot of parts for free. Two of these parts being a 2 pod A-pillar gauge pod, an A/F gauge, and I just bought a brand new boost gauge.

Now, I have been to VFAQ, and searched through under as many topics I could think of that are related... and I can't seem to find a direct answer.

The A/F gauge I understand is run to your ECU, and tapped into your O2 sensor wire. And I also understand that the boost gauge goes to your fuel solenoid. etc...

The problem I'm having mainly is determining how to actually mount the pod and gauges.

From what I've read on the forums I screw the new pod to the original A-pillar, then reconnect the old a-pillar. If this is true... do i need to drill a 5th hole to run the wires through? Because if it is screwed to the original A-pillar I'm wondering how I can run the wires so they're concealed.

If anyone has an installation guide, or some advice, or pics. Please let me know where I can find them. Thanks!

i drilled a hole in the stock a-pillar and ran the wires and boost line through the hole and then ran the wires through the dash

If you take the wiring and run it inside the new pillar first how you want it, then glue or tape in place, then screw the two together you can do it without having to drill another hole, that is if that is what you are trying to avoid. You can do either that or just drill the hole, either way you can conceal the wires because the new pillar will be on top of them. Then when you get to the dash area they will slide right in between the dash and the a pillar mount.

Hi

I have a problem too,I want to run wires to the cig lighter 12v wire, for my 3 gauges.
Will i screw up the wire by running too much wires on it?
I have no way of running the wires for power through the place where the little tweeter is,to the other wires.
I keep pressing the wires to go through, but there is no opening that leads through it.
Am i doing it right,or do i need another place to run it through

This is for a full triple gauge pillar

My '92 came with a 3-guage pod. I suspect it depends what pod you have, but on my car the bottom of the factory pillar trim has been cut-off to allow the pod to fit along side of the speaker grill. This gives shittons of space to feed the wires down along the door openining, right behind the edge of the dash. This will have them coming out right above the fuse box, where you can tap-in for your lights. Also, unless your A/F guage is a wide-band, it's useless. If it is a wide-band, you'll need to wire it to a wide-band O2 sensor. Those are usually mounted in a seperate bung welded in somewhere in the exhuast. And then there is your boost guage: Is it electrical? Or is there a brass hose-nipple on the back of it? Usually, unless it's super expensive, good boost guages are mechanical, and require a hose plumbed to the IM.

Hi

Thanks for replying.Mine is a triple gauge a pillar,it goes all the way down like the OEM A-pillar.I already found a place where i could pull the wires through down to the fusebox area. I am going to be running a volt, water temp and oil pressure gauge.

All my gauges are from megan racing, version 1.

my water temp gauge came with a sensor,i thought i could put it in the unused hole in the water neck, but it seems to be too long.i dont want to replace the stock water temp sensor,I just want a more accurate reading. Im going to have to pull the wire through the firewall together with the wire for the oil pressure gauge. Plus 1 wire for the 2 gauges to work (oil press and water temp).

I kind of dont know where to wire the wire for dimming action for nighttime driving.During the day it has to light up too, because they are tinted. When you turn on the headlights they are supposed to dimm. Some guys on the forum wire the gauges to the dimmer,so when they dim the cluster lights, the gauge lights dimm too. They wire this to the cig lighter power supply

So my question.
I have a 12v feed line for my water and oil press gauge, and a +-12 volt for the dimmer action when i turn on the headlights. Can i wire both of them together and solder them to the same cig lighter wire? Or the 12v wire to the battery, and the dimmer action wire to the cig lighter.

And does the volt meter have to hookup to the battery? Or somewhere else for it to be affective,i want it to have it help me monitor my car performance wise.

Thanks allot!
Thanks.
