Horrible Weekend. I was driving around and the line from the fuel line sprung a leak. I took the car home and began to try and save the unit so I would not have to buy Sending unit.. I took apart the sending unit and snapped all the small bolts (to be expected) pulled out the unit and replaced the hard metal line with a high-pressure fuel tubing.... it worked wonderfully! BUT the gas tank is also rusted and it made drilling for new studs a horrible nightmare.... needless to say I tried my best to put it together with JB Weld, QuikSteel, Seal-All and a new sending unit gasket... But it leaks a ton of gas everytime I make sharp turns.. that and I may have nicked the sending unit wires while drilling those holes as well causing the Dash to display empty and low gas light even after a fill up..

Wonderful weekend??

Fuel Mod list will now include Fuel tank and New sending unit.

Dont forget your timing belt, tensioner, bs belts, idler pulleys and im pretty sure with the age of the vehicle the front case seals are leaking. Dont forget the water pump and maybe some cam seals.

water pump and belts have been replaced. No oil can be see from the seals and I'm hoping it'll stay that way until I get the Block Machined. I do however have to fix the timing cover as it seems the person before me only put in a couple of bolts which is causing it to rub on all of my belts. Might need to look at the oil pan bolts too as there's something chewing on my timing belt. Gotta love DSM's (still irked about my gas tank and sending unit)

For your rust... Look up on youtube, krudd cutter for rust(think I spelt ir right, if not sorry). You can buy it at Lowes. Watch the video! Im going to do it in the trunk of my 2g..:thumb:

Where to start....

So I got a new fuel sending unit with a wally 255 and rewire kit:

After I did that, I set up my A/R gauge :) which seems to be working fine considering that I'm running rich LOL (no FPR yet)

BUT it's not a DSM without a minor bumb in the road... As i was taking off my stock o2 Housing, I broke a bolt in the hot side of the turbo.. Needless to say, this was a pain in the butt to get out and Ultimately, I've decided that I'm not going to bother with the 14b. I might as well buy a new turbo while I have this one off (I know i'm skipping quite a handful of steps... regardless It is what it is :) )

On the bright side though, I found my old old old 2g exhaust manifold and ported it myself so it can be ready for the new turbo on the way :)

After I get the new turbo, plans are FPR,Boost controller/gauge/ full exhaust (I only have the DP)... Car is getting there slowly but surely!

Turbo came in the mail from Turbo Lab:

Once i had the turbo, I couldn't wait any longer so I attached the Manifold and o2 housing :hellyeah:

Next thing on my list are
turbo lines
Throttle body rebuild
non cruise control throttle cable
EGR block off plate

I found DSMLINK v3 Full W/ ECU at a steal for 450 bucks:

Here is a good idea of everything i've bought so far. Still need injetors (going with 1200+CC) Fuel Lab FPR ad Fuel Rail.

That should get the car running and ready for it's tune!

I thought It would be a good Idea to update you guys! :)

Did a good chunk of work since I last posted here:

I deleted the coolant reservoir and replaced it with a Gatorade bottle. had to cut the intercooler piping from the vsrf kit to attachit properly with the 3" GM Maf. installed new TB with gaskets, boost leak test passed, fuel pressure set to 37psi.

Installed the VSRF FMIC:

I cut holes in the actual bumber so i could cut holes in the bumber cover to allow more air to hit the intercooler.. had a picture of the mod but I lost the pictures when I got a new pone.

Installed the Fuel Lab FPR:

Turbo was installed, FPR, FMIC installed.

I ordered some 1600cc injectors, 3 row half sized radiators, Naca duct, gauge pillar, and pig tail fuses

I figured I'd give the 1600cc injectors a shot.. I don't DD the car and don't plan too... so the hiccup during cruise and idle shouldn't be too bad

Semi-Installed the Half Rack Radiator on the eclipse. I still need to Fab up some brackets for the bottom/Top Radiator mounts (will probably be doing this later this week)

As far as a Fan solution is concerned.. I thought it would be a good idea to trim out the stock fan and make it fit on to the half rack radiator.. I'm fairly certain that with the stock fan and some water wetter, Car temps will hopefully stay below 200*

The radiator inlet and outlet hoses were 1.25 which are about .2 smaller than stock. I created Grommets to fit the radiator hose. Hopefully this will not become an issue

Car got up to 350HP but the powertrain couldn't keep up. Flywheel/clutch pieces penetrated the bell housing. Some small parts penetrated the intake tube (I had a custom plastic pipe) and slightly ate up the turbo fins, They also penetrated the coolant hoses (but not the radiator!).

That being said.. It was very fun while it lasted but i'm just going to part it out and start another build when I have the money.

all parts in pics are BO

That being said.. It was very fun while it lasted but i'm just going to part it out and start another build when I have the money.

Please do the DSM world a favor and make your next build a non-DSM car. You are a hack and these cars are getting harder to find in decent condition, which this one seemed to be before you got ahold of it.

I'm Glad the "world" revolves around these cars. Maybe you should go on a crusade and rescue as many of these cars as you can in an attempt to cure cancer, end world hunger, and even perhaps destroy our
fascination in money (aka paper made of silk). You don't know me and I don't know you, you don't what's going in my life so i'd appreciate it if you pulled your head out of your cheeks and minded your own business.

If you're so fixed on saving the "world" why don't you buy my car and fix it back up to good health? I still have all of the interior items as well as stock engine bay parts. You should buy it for the greater good! Do as all a favor and get this car out of my hands, god forbid the world will begin to crumble and your reality as you know it will cease to exist.

Actually... I probably should have bought my family member a DSM, maybe then she wouldn't of have passed away from cancer! What was I thinking! How could I have been so blind! who knew that my build thread was directly correlated to her health! I should probably stop selling this one as well since it should also help me with my new child, new house, wedding, selling my old house, and dealing with work. Jeez these cars must be the secret to life as we know it!

I don't want to get into a pissing match with you. I said "DSM world" not the world and nothing in your rambling, asinine response had anything to do with what I said. I didn't attack the worlds problems or talk about your family. All I said is your work is poor quality.
