i have seen the location for the 1g dsm's 2.0 n/a and turbos but i looked and it doesnt seem to be there on my 1.8. i have looked through the forum but still cant find the location. so does anyone know the location of the CAS on the 1.8 1g. its a 1994.

hmm..no wonder..LOL. well the car gets no spark. replaced distributor, ecu, and spark plugs but nothing. it has power up to the distributor but not the plugs. any idea?

Did you replace the whole distributer or just the cap? I was working on a 1.8L last night and the distributer(long metal housing with gear on end) has the power transistor, coil and rotor all inside it. There is a nice wiring diagram in the back of the Haynes manual I have.

I would start by checking to see if the computer has any error codes. You will need an analog multimeter to do it. There is a diagnostic port near the drivers feet/legs.

The computer will tell you if your cam and crank sensor are bad in the distributer. If you get just 12v flat line, then your computer is dead. If you just get short pulses equity distributed then there are no error codes(found the codes in the Haynes manual).

Are you seeing spark on no cylinders or just some?

i replaced the whole distributor, cap, and rotor for it. i will have to go get me a analog multimeter as i dont have one but i will give this a try. And im not seeing spark on any of em.
