So there is almost no place to work inside the dash, there is so much wire and the ecu is far deep inside. I bought a 1999 ecu for my car at someone who part out is car. its a black box so i supose it is eprom so i can tune it. It look like the black box is a biggee that the normal ecu so im wondering how the f*** i will make it fit there and that is if im able to get the old one out to begin with. Is the some one who have already do something like that and know a way to have it there without having to rip the entire console apart.

It will work fine for your application. Part numbers are pretty helpful to identify what you are working with. If evidence is required, here we are:

Actually since it's a 97 there's no reflash port, so the plug is useless. If you order from tactrix just ask for a mono plug wire(or even one from an old pair of headphones) which you will need to tap into pin 79 on the ecu harness.

Either way the black box is plug and play, although you may throw a CEL for emissions sensors (or so I've heard). The only difference between ecu numbers for a given year (at least for 2g) is fwd ecus have a speed limiter built in so you have to disable it if you plan on driving in excess of 130mph.

Good catch.

CeddyMods can cure this issue for the OP if they have not decided on this already:
