i know this is off topic but i am building up my 99 gst and was wondering how much that trans setup cost with the lsd?

I spent bout $3100 for the Trans with the new Wavetrac LSD, ACT flywheel and 2600 clutch from Shep. Not too bad I guess, but I wanted quality so I am getting what I paid for.
I also gave him a good core (working trans) otherwise he would have charged me $500 for a core, I also picked up the trans from his shop because I live about an hour and 45 mins away. I was VERY impressed with his shop and all of his vehicles. Hes the kinda of guy I would love to be, everything he could ever want is right there in his own yard!

So far it looks good! Good luck with the build, I wish I had some time/money to do all this. Keep us updated.

That is a very nice setup in the works! The only thing I would possibly change is the 255. If you have E85 available to you I would do either a dual pumper or keep the 255 and add another pump inline. And since you are going to go ECMLink, go as big injector wise as you can afford. Also, go with a GM MAF with ECMLink. I have heard nothing but good things about its compatability with ECMLink and their cable. Plus depending on the amount of boost you plan on running, you may over run the 2g MAS.

Thanks guys! I will look into the E85 but the only problem is there is only one gas station about 10 miles away that has it, that would kinda be a little irritating. I could run a dual 255 setup. From which GM should I get the maf from? So your saying that if I went and purchased a set of 1050cc or even 1600cc I still could run them I would just to play around with ecmlink a little? Also do I need a Maf translator or is the ecmlink going to take care of that for me? I am completely able to do mechanical work myself however, I have never messed with fuel and tuning before so any help I will gladly take in and if there's any more suggestions please post away!!

Thanks guys/girls I will post more pics as they come!

yes keep us posted on the build and pics. you are def getting a quality trans from him thats for sure. im looking into gettin that lsd so post on what you think of it when you are up and running.

The GM MAF can be pulled from plenty of their cars. Hell, me and my friend pulled one off of our high school shop class's buick. Worked perfectly. And with ECMLink (V3) you don't need a translator. Just the cable that ECMTuning can supply for you and you will get a much better idle then with a translator.

YES on the injectors. ECMLink can control them. Just research first which 1600cc injectors because some of those have a hard time in Link. But I have heard and seen good things from those new FIC BlueMax injectors.

Once you get a ECMLink setup, then you will also get a login for the DSMLink/ECMLink forums where you can learn how to tune as well as ask for help from experienced tuners as well as the makers of ECMLink too!

Keep up the good work and the updates!

BTW, did you end up putting in any cams into that head?

Thats some good info! Thanks!
I ended up putting HKS 272 Cams on Fidanza cam gears with some springs and retainers and 3G revised lifters.

I will for sure keep all of you updated on the progress and more info on the Wavetrac as well.

Here is the SHEP trans and the other goodies, cant wait till I get this baby assembled!!

I just got the Turbo in yesterday, now I have the BEP housing on back order, as of right now.
Need to order Injectors asap, dsmlink, motor mounts, axles, and random bolts and gaskets and I will be in business.

I got the BEP .55 A/R housing today along with the polyurthane motor mount inserts, I ordered FIC 1150cc injectors, ECMlinkV3 with an Eprom and they should be in within next week sometime, so Im waiting on a few parts here and there before I start the final assembly!
I still need an external wastegate mounted on the o2 housing, I will post the link below, its either that or I will order the slowboy racing HAFE manifold with the wastegate mounted on there. Which is a better location for the gate? Also when I order the gate which bar spring should I order?
My next question Im including some pictures of the BEP housing, do I need to have someone weld the hole where the internal wastegate was? Other than that the axles are my ONLY other part that I need to think about before I order, where on earth do you get them, Ive heard Raxles and driveshaft shop are the only ones BUT there pretty darn pricey at $1500 for level 5 750hp rated axles which or $399 for level 2 rated at 400hp? What are all of you other guys running for axles (FWD) Turbo 27spline

You would only weld it shut if you go with the HAFE manifold. If you are going off the o2 housing, you will of course need to have a passage for it to get to the external wastegate.

You may also want to rotate the housing. The way that is setup, the compressed air would be firing up towards the hood. That is, unless you intended it to do that of course.

Update:
I received a few more parts to my list which I'm finally nearing the end and when I get time and the rest of the needed parts I can fully reassemble the car. I'm needing some help/suggestions on a few of the last parts to get me running. I need to figure out what I'm going to do about intercooler piping with the 3inch gm maf and holset HX40. I found an oil feed and drain tube from extremepsi.com after my ordeal with nick at the turbotrader I can finally order some stuff now that he finally told me he could refund my money. almost there!!

Thanks everyone, I want to make sure everything is right as I really don't want to cut any corners so let me know how I'm doing so far. I'm kinda afraid the wiring is going to be all screwed up but fortunately my buddy is supposed to help me with it! There are a few frayed wires under the hood, I will take pics tomorrow what I'm talking about kinda scary but I'm sure I will figure it out before I drop the motor/trans in.

Damn looking good bro. That clean motor deserves a better looking and performing exh mani. ;)

Ok, I was sent away for work again and now I'm back and i have a little more progress on the never-ending project! I got the engine/trans and axles in and just finished up with the wire harness for the 6 bolt (much easier than I thought!) Anyway, the axles I received are from the driveshaft shop and the passenger side doesn't seem to be right. I bolted everything up and spun the axles by hand and there was suspension travel (up and down) each time I spin the passenger side, I removed the axle to find that the axle sent out from the driveshaft shop is much longer than the stock which I will include a picture, is it a possibility they might have sent me the wrong axle? Also you guys using the Holset HX 40 are you having problems with the lower rad hose touching the intake of the turbo, also I'm having a bit of trouble trying to get the intercooler pipe on the outlet of the turbo to work? any ideas because that cross member is in the way!
Thanks again!

Very VERY nice progression. It is coming together well.

If I may ask a favor, once the radiator is installed, could you take an above picture of the turbo setup? I've been trying to find someone with the new Tial recirculated setup to see what clearances look like compared to my own since I want to make the switch.
