1997 idle, speedo, code problems (please ignore previous post)

Okay so I have a 1997 Eclipse I just bought, and there a few things wrong with it and I was hoping to get some advice from you guys,

#1: The Speedometer, Odometer, and Trip do not work on it, except for once or twice a week it will kick on when I pull out of my driveway, it will get up to about 30 mph and then just go back down to 0 mph and stay there for the rest of the day, I believe it may be the speed sensor but I am not entirely sure.

#2: Cylinder 1 is misfiring, that is what the codes are saying, and that should be nothing more than the coil packs, wires, and spark plugs correct?

#3, When I shift into 3rd it makes a grinding noise (but only in 3rd) I am pretty sure it is the synchronizer for 3rd gear, but I want to know for sure before I have to take the whole transmission apart.

The codes I get when i plug it up are P0301, P0500, and P1294

I couldnt tell you, maybe a bad sensor? or bad connection? I dont know if its mechanical or electrical. I'll do some research.

sounds like a break in the cable is more likely to be it.

do you know where it would be located at on Eclipse's? cause I can probably check it for breaks or shorts in the wire
