1997 Gst Crank

hello i am a noob in DSMs. I have a question
i took apart my engine and i noticed the bearing are spun
and the crank is in bad shape. Is it better for me too resurface
the crank about or to get a new crank altogether ?
or maybe go with a 6bolt swap but its more expensive this way?

If it did crankwalk rebuilding all that stuff is going to be expensive and people say here that there is a high chance it will walk again. Look around for a used bottom end. Shit I got a long block with accesories on craigslist for 400$ and the engine only had 40kmiles on it.

Keep your engine and replace the crank, find another crank.

No link, I bought the engine. Guy wanted like 900$ but was moving in a few days and I got it for 420$. Sold my blown engine for 150$, so it was cheap at the end.

If you can get by with only taking .010 off the crank than i would just have it turned. Did is spin a rod bearing or main bearing?

It would be better to get a new crank. Although, if you have the money a new motor would be best.

The issue with a 6-bolt swap is that it can still crankwalk, any engine can, and not only the money to perform the swap, the time needed as well would bother me(I'm impatient ) I would just pick up a new crank/shortblock rebuild kit. If your engine has quite a few miles, crankwalk was not an issue.
