OK first off i know my username name throws it off. The gst was my first dsm. I'm now onto the 95 talon tsi as it says in the title. Dont have a whole lot of information on the car since he didnt know much about it. Took a while to get it. exactly what I wanted. I traded my 95 jimmy for this (that's how I do it little harder to buy and sell in this economy) I work at a body/service shop so i have somewhere to work on it when its cold as sh** out. Okay so lets get to it.
The picture of it wet was the first day i got it. Everything looked clean strut towers were good, no oil leaks, clutch felt strong said it only had 25k on it. No gears grinded started up perfect every time. Zero rust on the body, little here and there bolts, drive shaft, nothing too bad. So it begins
Day 1- Went outside to warm it up its the middle of December in Michigan so i was expecting a little bit of a rough start nut nope started up perfectly after sitting outside over night. Started to walk away and bam a really high squealing started. So i immediately bought a brand new belt for it and made a dumb decision since I never had time to do it between work and class.
Day 2- While driving to class on a warmish day (slush in random spots) almost to the school and all of a sudden the car dies and i start sliding and yup you guessed it. Into a ditch i go (random picture of me being pulled out of the ditch i was in). $75 later and I was pulled out by a tow truck. After a high rev or down shifting the car would randomly die. So popping the clutch a lot came into the equation. So time to figure out why it was doing that.
Day 3- Popped the hood to find the problem. After looking i noticed the mbc was on wrong, a vaccume line was disconnected some how. plugged it into its right place and the idle went down and was doing great. Car really had no problems for a couple weeks. The squeel would go away after it got warm and pulled great.
Week 3- On the way to taco bell
in the middle of a main road going 60 mph, all these lights come on and i lose heat and power steering. Just my luck look under the hood and adios alternator belt. Drove it home about 2 miles without it over heating thankfully. Tomorrow morning was time to put on the new belt. Well tried to put it on and happens to be about 4 inches to small, awesome. Back to the store i go and got another one also to short. Finally went out with a speaker wire and measuered it myself. about time the 3rd one fits but need to lossen the tensioner bolt to get it on snug. Turned the screw once and snap, there goes the head of the tensioner bolt. So i put it on with a lot of force. Terrible idea but it worked. No further problems till about a month
Month 2- Driving to work one day i realize its taking more gas to get her going (figured it was the snow/ice build up in the wheel wells so i pulled it into the wash bay at work. Cleaned it up and noticed a distinctive electric fire smell great something else to find. Well didn't really need to find it out when i thought (hey dumbass that's your clutch) So i figured i had time to order a new clutch maybe a center force one or something with the new turbo/fuel setup i planned on doing. Made it out of work and 4 miles down the road i had no more clutch "boy that went fast" proceeded to get it towed back to my work.
Next day- (new clutch time) While dropping the trans we realize my drive shaft middle bolts that hold up the middle carrier bearing was loose. Then realized the 2 bolts were bent forward like he ran over something, the rear motor mount was missing a bolt and a new control arm he had replaced was missing a bolt (good thing i never take the highway) 3 of the 4 control arms are bad and the oil feed return line was kinked. Found out the 255 wally was in fact a stock fuel pump. And the mbc lines had cuts in them (not sure why) So big boost leak there. Also the couplings were not tight all the way (another boost leak) ended up putting a stock clutch in for now.
Same day- Clutch that had "25k on it'' was the stock clutch also and had an air hose fitting on the end of the small shaft to make the clutch pedal more stiff and feel like a brand new clutch. f'd me pretty good. Well the clutch was finally done and i decided I didn't want the 2gb eclipse bumper anymore. Taking it off was pretty simple considering it was 4 bolts and 5 zip ties
, I decided to get and paint a 2ga talon and put it on. Okay enough rambling and onto the plans of course after i fix the small stuff. This is my daily driver so trying to keep full interior
Gonna paint the hood and get rid of the mitsu symbol since its a talon, since i have to get a new windsheild ### its cracked im gonna get EAGLE on the top of it. Full black interior (its already half way there)

awesome so thinking the kinked oil return line has something to do with it. And the turbo isnt even a 16g still a 14b. I hate previous owners. Well ordered the new control arms and ball joints im replacing and should be on the way within the week. Debating on just getting a replacemnt 16g for right now and wait till everything is fixed before i get a bigger turbo, bigger fuel set up, and link. Going to max out the 16g before i get to that point.
