I am at my final stages of this build, down to putting on the flywheel and clutch.
Everything is torqued, we get the tranny up and find out it will not fit with the flywheel. The flywheel I took out was a 1994 FWD 7 bolt, measured 10.50'' diameter, the FWD flywheel I had purchased was a FWD also, but measured in at a 11.25'' diameter.

Am i missing something? Or did I blow by the information that the bell housings from early 1991's are smaller than of those to 1994 FWD tannys.

Suggestions as what my options are would be much appreciated..

Thanks

If that were the case, I have to go with either getting a 1991-1992 tranny, or somehow a 6bolt flywheel with my 1994 N/T tranny.

With the earlier transmissions (FWD) my car is a 1994 talon, body and all, will this 1991-1992 transmission connect up with all my original wirings such as, speedometer? Drive axles? Stuff of that nature.

Is it possible to go with a AWD flywheel with this, somehow the flywheel i pulled from my 1994 NT is the exact same diameter as one I pulled from a 1992 GSX
except for the thickness of course.

It sounds like you got a hold of a turbo flywheel which is larger in diameter than a non-turbo. If you are attempting to use a non-turbo transmission -- which is what it sounds like -- you need to find a non-turbo flywheel to go along with it.

You could use an AWD flywheel but would need the turbo clutch and pressure plate to go along with it.

So I need to find a 6 bolt, non turbo flywheel, then im gold.

I've searched and cant find anything but for turbo engines,

This is where I got confused, the engine is a turbo, (doing the turbo swap)
but my tranny isnt, I guess there is more room in the bell housing for the earlier years but w/e

Any sites that sell what im looking for? (6bolt NT flywheel)
