So now that I had pinned down a new shell, it was time to get what I needed from the black cherry Talon and get'r out of the garage. While my parents love me, they do not feel the same way about DSMs.

So, in she came:

And she would never be the same again. I'm not going to lie, it was a bittersweet moment when I killed the engine for the last time. This Talon was my first car that I really got down and dirty with and I had a lot of blood sweat and tears invested into it.

Anyways, I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

It's worth noting the abundance of grime on the transmission in this picture. Oh yea, that'll be fun :(

Once I got everything I wanted, it was time to get her ready to go. The engine bay was basically empty, all electronics were removed from the interior, all the lights, brakes, and anything aftermarket was kept.

As she sat awaiting her fate, like a criminal facing the judge:

But all is not lost!! My dream (or my parents' nightmare, depending on how you see it) is realized:

The end of an era.

The last picture I have of my first DSM, and I wasn't even there to take it. Sad day. It was just a car, but damn it, it was my car.

why are u putting ## engine and tranny in a new shell? yours looks in good shape

It's so sad to watch your first dsm go. I know when I sold my 97 that was a sad day I wish I had never gotten rid of her, but after I hit that van things would never be the same for her. Oh well you have moved on to carry on what you have started same as me. Keep up he good work and just think any mistakes you made before atleas to know what not to do now.

my first dsm was my 1.8 which i still got then i had the 90 gst which i quickly sold and then the 3000gt which i got rid of it and i picked up a 95 gsx auto in september that i will keep for a long long time

Costas14, I got rid of the BC because it was an R-title, had frame damage from an accident after the rebuild, the wiring was shot on both ends of the harness, and I got a hell of a deal on the new one.

ah is it off to the junkyard?

It's long gone. The events of this blog happened in early September, IIRC.

I cant even imagine how that would feel, just my parents wanting me to trade mine in on something more "reliable" made my heart sink, least you still got part of her though.
