Calgary,
I've just been having a ridiculous loss of low end power, and I'm wondering if a 190 overruns a stock AFPR. I know that rumor has it, you should be ok with a 190, but I'm not looking for rumors. I'm running 680's with a 190, and MAFT. No Vac leaks.

My O2 trims: if I warm up the car and let it idle, the O2 trim sits around 100, and shortly climbs up and up. Then drops to 100%(because it ceases to see any O2 voltage). What is this telling me? Thanks guys.

An AFPR is an Aftermarket Fuel Pressure Regulator, so there is no such thing as a stock AFPR, that's contradicting.

So now I'll quit being an ass and answer your question. I don't think you will overrun the stock FPR. I have a Walbro 255 LPH with 650 cc injectors and it seems to be fine. I have tuned it with a wideband and it seemed fine. I am in the process of installing an in-car fuel pressure gauge to see for sure how it is. I'll let you know when I'm finished.

I see you're tuning it w/ maf-t. From my personal experience w/ that is that it sucks to tune alone with. You're probably gonna wanna get an afc and use them both in conjunction. But, it is possible that you are overrunning your stock fpr w/ that pump

If we're going to nit-pick, it's an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator. But thanks for the reply, let me know how the gauge turns out.

Anyone else have an issue with overrunning with a 190?

like catbox said, even a 255 shouldnt overrun the stock fpr. but that doesnt mean your fpr is working properly. you might want to take it off and check the diagphram and the spring, and if possible, if you have the time and means, put on another fpr to see if that helps out. i thought that my fpr was malfunctioning also, but it turned out that two of my injectors had crapped out on me, we figured this out after i put on a friends afpr and had to raise the pressure sky high it get the mixtures right, we then checked all the injectors and found the problem. hope this helps :dsm:

Thanks for the advice on the injectors, even though they're only a year old, maybe something to get flow checked I suppose.

What do you mean a 255 shouldn't overrun the stock FPR? Or did you mean the 190 shouldn't?

For the record, 255 will overrun the stock fpr for sure unless the pump isn't working optimally. The debate on this issue focuses mostly on whether the "mostly drivability side effects" will hinder performance.

So far I have only seen one thread about 190 overrunning the stock fpr so the likelyhood is low but not impossible. A $30 filter mounted fp gauge would be a cheap/effective way to find out for sure.
