18" Wheels. Pro's / Con's?

Like the title states above. What are the pro's and con's of goign with 18's?

I'm looking to go with 18's on my car for a daily driver with some track time with a lot of spirited driving. How much will they hurt my straight line performance and handling?

Any input welcome.

I have 18's with 225/40's and the ride isnt bad at all.The pothole thing isnt an issue because when I have the factory 16's on I avoid potholes.Take off the fronts and go smaller at the track. My speedo was only off by 2mph...my 18's are for sale too!!!!!

key point watch the offset. my 18's set about 2cm wider then i would like. because on my rear quater pannels my tires well hit the finders if i have people in the back or i hit a big bump to fast. and thats on stock height it well raise the ride height of the car up about a inch. but if you ever but a body kit on a 2g 17's well look small.
