So, apparently the vacuum source for a 14b off of a 1g is on the stock j pipe?

Well the j-pipe that i got with my VR intercooler does not have vacuum/boost fitting on it. The turbo is already in the car at my buddies house and needs to be done asap, if we tap the pipe right after the j pipe will there be any ill effect rather then tapping it right at the j pipe?

Does anyone else know of any other alternatives? i have read tapping the compressor well that is not an option as the turbo is already in the car.

We would tap the j-pipe but it is SS and we dont not have the right drill.bit to do so.

Any ideas ASAP thanks!

**EDIT**
Would using one of the Vacuum/Boost source off the top of intake manifold where i currently have them plugged (because i removed emissions lines) be acceptable?

You need a vacuum source at the compressor outlet pipe. Larger turbos you would do it on the compressor cover but not on a small turbo like a 14b.

I bet it would be less than $20 to take it to a machine shop and have them drill it and put a nipple on for you....

What is the benefit of running it off of the j-pipe as opposed to running it off of the intake manifold? Just wondering because since i upgraded to a fmic and piping i have been running my wastegate off of the intake manifold with no problems.

does any one have a pic of where there running it off thd intake? i have mine run there at the moment but my car dont run like it should at all under boost. i have the same vrspeed intercooler and jpipe. for the 80 i paid 4 the pipe u would think it would have a nipple already. but to answer ## ? it sounds like ## easiest option is to tap the lower intercooler pipe.

Some people tap into the BOV line. My j-pipe doesnt have a nipple and Ive been too lazy to put one on. My boost controller works just fine this way. No spikes or any ill effects. I know Im about to get flamed for telling you to do this. Just try it out and see how it works for you. Some people have trouble with it so its kinda hit and miss.

Thanks for the responses guys, I am going to try tapping the BOV as jdodds suggested, the line already has a blocked off T on it and I can just tap that, I will however get the J-PIPE welded eventually so this will be a temporary solution just so I can drive the car.

Thanks a lot guys!

I will report back
