well in short my stock 14b is now toast.

I want to upgrade to a evo III 16g with a evo O2 housing to compliment it. Also new OEM oil/water lines with SBR oil return line kit (pushlock style). This is all going to be running stock boost until the boost guage, safc and boost controller get here. Also to get a SBR cast 2g manifold in the near future (i have a wonderful 1G cracked mani  )

Am i going to need to modify anything really to get the 16g to fit or is it truly just a bolt on as everyone says. What are the pros and cons of this setup? do you think its a good start? just some general opinions on it are welcomed. i would like to know some peoples experience and thoughts before i go and drop a nice chunk of money into something like this. Thanks:thumb: :laser:

Also, Current mods are balance shaft removal, and hacked air can. so nothing fancy in the support department for this.

Hey. if you wanna go with the 16g its a good setup for decent times... It is truely just a bolt on aside from the j pipe and what not...the whole kit including all the nessacary install parts can be had for a decent price at slowboy http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=4939& plus a solution to the cracked mani... I havent really had much experiance with this setup without many mods but I know with a set of 550 injectors and a safc and walbro 255 it makes great power and is extreamly fun. id say get bout 1500 bucks if possible and go with those things... Im sure on lower boost the 16g setup will be just fine with no mods but she will open up once you get a few more things... :thumb:

Cons???? With your setup you really cant get insane so I would say there really arnt that many..Good setup for your ride.

Thing is that says its the 2g install kit. it pretty much has everything i need but what about the install kit? does it fit the 1g? or how will that work out?

The Evo III 16g is a direct drop in replacement for the 1g 5-speed. If you have a 2g, then you need that install kit because the T25 is set-up a little bit different. If you get that package you'll be basically paying a little more for a 2g install kit that you won't use, but getting the E3 16g is a good idea, and I'd recommend it. It's what i'll be doing soon.

Ok so i just want to make sure i have everything right before i purchase this. but is there absolutly anything that i need from the 2g install kit that warrents buying the install kit instead of just buying the manifold and the 16g seperate? i see it as why spend the money for something im not going to use? does is come out cheaper for gaskets and stuff? or is it just better to do it that way? what can i use (1g 5speed) from it?

Slowboy Inventory:
Evo 3 16g - $568.97
SBR Cast Manifold - $299

Total = $867.97
2g Solution kit = $999.99

You will basically be paying $132.02 for a couple of gaskets from the install kit that you could use. But why pay that much just for a couple of gaskets? The piping and everything else you will not use.

Better price, but again, it's for the 2g and it contains stuff you won't need.

This is what I suggest to you from Turbochargers.com
Evo 3 16g - $459.00
GT Evo Manifold - $145.00

Total: $604

The GT Evo Manifold is great, I have it and I like it a lot, it also comes with a 7cm turbo to mani. gasket, mani. to head gasket and turbo bolts. You save $395.99 buying that over the SBR total solution package. You can use the extra money you save to buy an o2 housing and an o2 housing gasket. I hope that helps.
