im looking to do some minor modifications to my 1g turbo awd talon and was wondering what the maximum horsepower (estimations of corse) of my engine would be without any pistons, rods, crankshaft, turbo, intercooler core, or fuel upgrades,... and also without all those except fuel upgrades,...i was thinking about hotwiring my fuel pump either way, and was wondering about what numbers i would be putting down with a 3 inch turbo back, exaust manifold and o2 housing, intake pipe, upper and lower intercooler piping, air filter, maf and maft, and a manual boostcontroller...and what psi that fuel system/turbo could support...any thoughts would be helpfull,...along with cfm and other info about the 14b(flow maps?)

LOL sleepyvr4 i just posted on your thread before i checked this one..
thanks piano man, i looked around and found out what eprom is and all that stuff, and i also found people suggesting to replaced the stock 85 degree capacitators with 105 like you said, but i dont know why, or under what circumstances will they blow? and how will that ruin the whole ecu?

Well its not that the cap's blow up, its that over time the cap's just leak. I won't put it past mitsubishi that it was done on purpose that in 10 years, make the caps leak so people have to come back and get a new ecu. Lo and behold we can replace them ourselves, so that left us with leaky caps and mitsu out the window. The fluid that leaks out of them will damage the board. I have seen some boards that were destroyed from the fluid. They always leak, always. Its just another one of those unique dsm problems.

Well, I dunno. Steve would be the person to ask about that one. Hes a wiseman on here, his screen name is just Steve.

ok finally got my car back from new logics, and it felt great
shifted a lot better, and for some unknown reason, the rpms were lower (ie before @3k rmps in 3rd i would be at 35 mph, and now its more like 2.7k in 3rd for 35mph) maybe the xfercase/rear diff fluid reduced some extra friction, who knows, but im sending it back on sunday for a autometer ultra lite and to get a new seal for the rear hatch,...maybe some other stuff too(rear brakes i believe, rotos and all probably)..everything i got done, transmission fluid replaced, rear diff and tcase fluids replaced, new wippers, radiator cap, fuel and oil filters, replaced a burnt out blub, new ngk 6es plugs, and i had the oil flushed,... anyways, after i got it back i removed the little plastic restrictor on the boost control solinoid, and got up to what looked like 13 psi in second at about 4k i believe, i just floored it and looked at the boost gauge and saw it really close to that 14 and i let off and was looking at the road again cuz it was turning... ANYWAYS....i checked for eprom, but didnt see the ecu, (just glanced) is it behind that carpet, or were those screws i saw for the ecu?

Its behind the radio. You have to pull out the radio, pull the panels off the sides of the center console, then undo the 3 screws, that hold the ecu in place. Then up by where the firewall, center console, and floor meet, there is a little carpet/plastic wedge on the passenger wedge. Take that out, then wiggle the ecu out towards the passanger side, then unplug the harness's from the ecu.

thanks ill check sometime tomorrow hopefully, so as of now, i have 11 items on my list

1 boost gauge (ordered one from newlogics, getting it sunday hopefully)
2 starion fmic, up to 300 (anyone know of a place that sells these new? if there over 500 it wont be worth it, but with this important of a piece i thought it might be good to get one thats not going to be dented or anything)
3 3kgt fuel pump
4 rnr 3" exaust (this will be the hardest parts to convince my parents to let me get, ill pay for it, but the car is under their name cuz im under 18, aka pita)
5 3" atr o2 housing from dynamic racing (anything/anywhere cheaper?)
6 3" gm maf
7 maft
8 intake pipe (will i need this, cuz ill be putting the maf in between the tbody and bov, but i probably wont vent)
9 act 2100
10 safc or eprom or datalogger, still havent desided cuz eprom sounds like it might be a little hard to do and stuff
11 diy mbc (ill probably bring it up to like 16 for daily use, i rarely hit over 7, and today was the like third time @ or above 10, thinking maybe 18 for track use, maybe 20 if i get some race gas?)

If im correct, the atr 02 housings have a 3 bolt flange to bolt to the down pipe. Where as the rnr exhaust only has two bolts. If this is what your talking about this won't bolt up to a rnr exhaust.--http://www.atrperformance.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_15&products_id=134

What are the major differences in the 190 and 255 fuel pumps besides flow, they both are similar in price...I'm thinking of using the 190 but a few recommended the 255. I'm planning about 14-16 psi on a daily. I also am on a budget like tstkl, I have similar mods(check mod list) but planning 2.5" turboback exhaust, still debating on 3". I just received my 2g maf, been researching that i'm gonna need a SAFC. Datalogger sounds good, can someone link me where to get more info on that. My plan for the fuel system was to go 190lph(rewired), FPR(40psi), Fuel rail inlet mod, stock injectors(maybe upgrade later). Let me know what you guys thing of this setup, aiming for approx. 250-280AWHP...thanks for the info guys! :thumb:

->BTW TSTKL PM me if ur intrested in a Starion FMIC i have one laying around!(its the one in my signature photo) Also check out http://www.dejontool.com/index.html for cool intake pipes and UICPs, just picked up my Dejon compressor outlet elbow for the 14B at about 30 bucks! :rocks: :talon:

thanks, ive seen that site before, but i keep forgetting about it,...(favorites now..) anyways, will there be any modifications to the intake pipes if i want to connect my 3" maf to the tb elbow, also does your starion fmic come with all the pipes? forgot to ask that in pm,....as for the intake pipe, if i get a 3inch (the one that eliminates the maf) will i be able to fit a 9" by 3" K&N air filter, or will 9" be too long,... cuz it looks like that pipe is a little long..

edit: this; 1gQ No MAS, VPC or "Blow Thru" Curved Intake Pipe (sizes 2.75" 3" 3.5 & 4")

im just sayin from experiance i hit fuel cut at 17psi with a 14b, 450cc, and a wally 255, with a stock fpr but im also in a 2g with a 6bolt swap

I made 230 whp just swaping the 14b on my 2g fwd auto and made 230whp at 14psi.Only mod was exhaust and 255 fuel pump that's it.
