14b@15psi 190lph and 55 shot wet nitrous?

i have an 95 automatic talon with a 14b that i just installed and i recenty installed a 190lph fuel pump and i'm running 15psi i also have a 2 1/2 downpipe and exhaust so i want to put my nx kit but i don't want to blow up my engine so i want to put a 55 shot on the car but i don't know if it would hold and what do i have to put to be on the safe side. :talon: :thumb:
 
i'm pretty sure on stock internals, turbo and nitrous on a car that was n/a stock, will blow something. pick one or the other, or get forged internals then go both.

You should easily be able to run a 50hp shot on your car no problem. (NX doesn't have a 55hp shot jet, only 35/50/75 for the efi stage one kit are packaged with it)

I would suggest you bump up your fuel pressure to start so that the car is rich then watch your air fuel ratio on a wideband while you spray the first time to make sure everything is ok. After that you can drop your fuel pressure as you notice the AFR is inline. I would also look at some changes on yoru afc and see of they help at all. You'll probablly end up with some settings you chanage at one particular RPM range when your spraying as it may want more fuel at 5500rpm or something like that.
 
also my nitrous came with a safety switch which means if the car is just running too lean the nitrous is going to shut off and i'm going to installed that when i installed the kit and probably i'm going to inject more fuel than nitrous so the car won't run lean. :talon:

No, don't do stuff yourself. What makes you think that you know more about nitrous than the manufacturer does and that you can change what they are doing and get positive results? Not trying to be rude, but you don't and you can't

The fuel pressure safty switch is only to stop you from accidentially spraying nitrous into the intake when your car is shut off, that is all. Its a 20psi switch. If your fuel pressure ever hit 20psi the car would have blown up long before the nitrous shut off. Nitrous will not blow up the engine, doing things like not running the recommended jetting will blow up your car.

Just hook it up exactly like they say and run the jets they say. If your worried add some fuel from your spray point on using your AFC or add fuel pressure at your fpr. If you want to do that cheaply even a B&M will add pressure no problem. It won't take it away, but it's great for adding a few psi in a situation where you want some extra insurance.
 
I think he meant he is going to install the FP switch. Why would you not want to? If the pressure drops below a certain level, then it'll shut the system off. I don't know the exact pressure, but it seems like a reasonable way to prevent spraying w/o enough fuel.
 
i believe the fp switch for nx comes set at 32 psi. but it is also adjustable, pull out the little black rubber plug in the bottom of it and it can be adjusted with a allen wrench.
