Soooooo, I'm considering running a stock appearing turbo such as the HTA68, and also spraying it with a 100 or 150 shot. All while trying to be sneaky, and hiding the nitrous.:sneaky: So what are your thoughts???

I just realized that i started this thread in the wrong section. Yeah im an idiot!!:ohdamn: Noob Noob Noob.

**Mod please move this thread to tech**

Remove the a/c stuff from behind the dash and stash the bottle behind the glove box:thumb:

Brain: I need NOS. I need NOS. My car topped out at 140 MPH today.

Harry: Amateur's don't use nitrous oxide. I've seen the way you drive, you have a heavy foot. You'll blow yourself to pieces.

Brian: I need one of these. One of the big ones. Actually, let's make it two. And Harry I need it by tonight

I'm glad im not the only one that knows that damn movie word for word:barf: Now on a more serious note, how critical or important is it to have a purge kit? I certainly don't want or need to have a side show and try to be cool and show off my nitrous purge! Unless it is required and practical to purge. Maybe purge somewhere less noticeable than from the hood?

Isn't a purge kit useful though? It makes sure your nitrous line is full of nitrous and ready to be thrown into your intake (depending on wet or dry shot). Kinda like when you get a shot at the doctors office. After taking the medicine out of the bottle with the needle, they push the plunger of the syringe to get air out of the tube. I don't really know. But if there is a useful reason for it, i would that is it.

All a purge is for is to get the air out of the lines so when you hit the nitrous its pure nitrous not air first. You'll run rich the first time you hit it during a run for a sec or less depending on how long the line is.

That all makes sense, and i definitely want to be efficient and consistent, so having to wait for the air to clear before the nitrous hits will throw consistency out the window.

Do you have to purge out of the hood? Is there a practical way to keep it hidden?:hmm:

My friends 03 Mach 1 has a 125 shot on it and he purges under the bumper. Purge is loud but you don't see the air moving like you would for someone to purge out the hood and what-not.

Make sure you have a blow-down pipe if you plan on running at the track. Most tracks won't let you run without it.

Run the purge to spray the intercooler and it then won't be wasted and ricerish and people will just think it is a intercooler sprayer....

Nitrous in a 68hta is gunna be insane cause that turbo hits hard already with great flow so it would be a fun car

I totally agree. I know the HTA68 is an absolute beast on its own, but adding a 100 shot is just gonna take it over the top. :D And thats what im all about. Plus, I'm looking forward to the shock factor when i pop my hood and people aren't expecting to see a "cute" little 16g:sneaky:

Yea purging to the FMIC would be sweet. That is what i would suggest. I have heard of people purging through the brake calipers though LOL. That is a wee bit ricer though

if your trying to be sneaky i would imagine your not going to the track much? if thats the case....

1. you dont need a purge most nitrous is activated by a full throttle switch unless your going real Brian Spilner and using a button (bad idea also). so just make sure to floor it for a little either doing a burn out at the "track" or while pulling to the line on the street. this will purge it for you no problem done it for years like this in the past

2. 100 is a pretty good shot for what im about to say (prefer direct for 100+) but... if you put the nozzle in the UICP and run the line through vacuum hose to the above mentioned "behind the dash" it will be very hard for some one to tell especially if done right.

My original goal was to get opinions on spraying the HTA68. BUT in my initial post i didn't make that clear enough. Therefore this thread quickly turned into how to be sneaky and then all about the purge b.s. Clearly my fault, but still useful information. I'll be sure to be EXTRA clear next time!!

Do it, you won't regret it. I went auto with my car and picked up a nitrous kit to get the converter stalled up. Tell me why after a day I'm spraying the damn thing the whole pass LOL. Started out with a rich 50 shot and now Ive been running a 75 shot for the past month at around 32psi of boost with the hx35.. it works very well. :D

I'm definitely going to do it!! But the biggest question i have now is to decide on staying 5 speed or going Auto.:hmm: But it's looking like i will stay with the 5 speed.

You do NOT need a purge kit for your nitrous, people can say all they want about how long the nitrous take to get to the motor, not true! just for fun warm the bottle to 950psi hook up the line and the solenoid and then activate it.... you'll have you answer as soon as you press the button.

IF your worried about it you can do a engine purge...rev it up to 3500ish and activate it in short bursts.
