Made changes to the car but had soem problem coming out the hole last night but the good news is it is making A LOT more power, picked up 6 mph in the 1/4 trapping 130 now but only running 11.0 due to 2 sec 60s perhaps the 3500 stall in the car is too low for the new setup, but it was as high as hughes could get us on that converter.

Broke the flex plate due to bolts backing out, new one got here at work on thursday, they will have it back together this weekend and hopefully at the track next thursday.

any ideas how many lbs min you are getting with your 130 traps?

also by new setup did you guys put the gt35 on there or are you still working with the 57 trim

Thanks,
chris.

UPDATE:

Last night car was having tuning problems but still managed a 10.88@126 (6.88@100) in the 1/8th. Still on a stock trans with a shift kit and a Hughes convertor. We hope to have the bugs worked out this weekend and improve that time a lot.

Wow, nice times. :thumb:

I can not believe how fast you got the 57trim in the quarter, especially if you were only using the nos for spool up. I guess there is hope for it. :rocks:

How much did the new front pump cost?

John, how is your new Flexplate for the 1G auto's coming along?
I definitely do not want to keep the stock pin wheel cookie on when I do my tranny.

If you can get your 60ft around 1.7 you would drop off around 5 tenths and get you mid to low 10's. OMG
Are you spinning the tires out of the hole?
If not you need more boost and/or a higher stall. Try to get it on the verge of spinning yet it only gives off a tiny chirp at best.

And if you are having problems holding the boost and creeping, its due to the vacuum booster. The trick is to bump the pedal in neutral and when the vacuum peaks on the rpms way down slam the brake and then put it in gear. Works for me every time and stopped my creeping at only 5 psi on the stock converter at 2800rpm. Normally I was brake torquing around 13 inches, now its around 22 inches, big difference in holding power. ;)

Keep us informed. :thumb:

Does any one have a turbo map of the 57 trim john was using? I am thinking 120 traps for that turbo seems really fast, the map turbocalculator has makes it look the same as an evo16g. If thats the same turbo john is using than OMG

Why aren't you going alot faster with the gt35r? 450 turbo less efficient compared to highly efficient 650 hp turbo. Seems like you should be trapping mach 2 with the gt35r

PTE rates the 57trim much higher than 450hp, they say more around 545 and exhaust housing and wheel can alter that figure some. I have the 57 with a .48 and a 69 ex wheel so its not going to make as much compared to the .63 and 76 ex wheel.

W3ll than their ratings are FUBAR. The gt30r rated at 52 lbs/min only got a score of 500hp and the 57 trim at about 45 lbs/min scored 545 hp. That does not add up.

How is a turbo that flows 15% less going to make 10% more horsepower?

UPDATE:

Car went [email protected], 6.7@106 in the 1/8th. Slicks where rubbing strut towers slowing it down past 120mph. Car was also running on a blown head gasket having to be filled with coolant after each pass. It has reched the limits of the walboro 255 at this point. Inline fuel pump, new headgastet, make room for the slicks and get bottle pressure above 800psi (no heater) possibly spray it the rest of the track and good things could happen :thumb:

John

BTW new passes are on a t66 t3 hot side 82 ar housing. 35r injested a piece of a valve end of last year.

Thats insane, So you are just running a chip set to your size injectors with no tuning?

Yes the chip is compensated, there was some seat of the pants tuning done. And tuning between passes but with the diagnostic port dead at the time and no wide band it was pretty much make an adjustment, make a pass over and over.

so you only tuned with the maft or did you tune with and afc, did u use a logger?

Only tuning was done with the afc, maft is just there to go blow thru. As I said the diagnostic port was dead so no logger.
