I was wondering why I would boost to 10psi, then at 5k rpms slowly start to creep to 15. I tried twisting my MBC to apply more boost but it wasn't effective. No matter which way I turned it, it didn't make any difference. I found a slightly larger than pin-sized hole in the tubing going to my MBC from the wastegate. Could such a small hole be significant and the cause of this problem?

If you have a hole on your vaccum line(no matter what the size, replace it. Bad vacuum lines will cause all types of problems. Make sure all of your lines are tied down tightly

Hopes this helps, Stay boostin

Yes. Any hole in the vacuum line to matter the size will affect it. In your case it is bleeding off pressure before it gets to the wastegate.

A hole in any vacuum line is bad especially if it's on the wastegate line, replace the hose like already suggested. If you're truly creeping after that, then obviously your ported 16g was not ported in the right places specifically to deal with boost creep.

I removed the faulty line. What kind of hose do you guys use? I forgot where I bought this one.

And I wasn't creeping before my MBC started acting up and in any case an o2 dump is my next mod. :thumb:

I use high quality silicon hoses odered through one of our vendor sponsors.

Go with an O2 dump if you like the annoying sound, being public enemy number one and occasional noise violation tickets. It will however, most likely not solve your boost creep without proper porting of the turbine housing as boost creep is mostly caused by poor flow characteristics of the turbine housing, not the flow capacity of the O2 housing, one of the most misundertood part of boost creep/o2 dump.

Okay. The noise doesn't bother me at all and I don't drive around WOT all the time so I'm not really worried about the noise factor. And it can do nothing but help. Anyway, like I said previously I didn't have any creep issues until the MBC started acting up.

Anyone have a link handy w/ the high quality silicon hose? I'm guessing Autozone or Kragen's carries them?
