Yea that sounds good right? its a 1993 gst all black, automatic..the problem is that the guy told me that theres something wrong with the transmission he said it needs a new computer...thats the ecm right?? which is behind the radio? But for a grand u think thats a good price? i might jus sell my car to buy that and fix it up...tell me what u guys think.. i will add more details to teh problem when i check it out, all i did was look at the apperance of the car in and out.

well i bought my 90' tsi awd 5spd for 1200, and with that auto youre getting a smaller turbo, fuel injectors and cams. I personally dont think its that great of a deal if it needs transmisson work and a new ecu, just not worth it. just my 2 cents...

I wouldn't recommend doing it...its fwd, its gonna cost alot to repair the tranny computer, and its AUTO. You'll be kicking yourself in the end for buying it. Don't buy it, wait and search for the 1G awd 5 spd...its out there somewhere =)

Yeah I agree, AWD 1G turbo 5spd manual. I settled for a FWD but I only paid $750. I'm undecided at this point if I'm going to keep it for the long haul because I wanted AWD. It's going to be my practice car. I'm doing body and paint work..and booooy does it need it(see sig)

well i found a turbo eclipse its a 1990 i found it today at my job, the owner is a lady and i was asking her if she would sell or trade it, and as soon as she saw my car she wanted it..=D reason why cause its auto and shes so sick of driving stick, shes like 38 or 39..so this friday shes gonna have mechanic check out my car and imma check out hers and if everything works out its gobba be a even trade..=DD..wow 5 spd, turbo, 140xxx miles im allready liking it! i dunno if its awd or fwd, i thought all turbo models for the eclipse were all awd...? but ne ways this friday when i check it out i'll drop a post and tell u guys the news..

I checked it out today, its ok needs a lot of body work and interior and has a bad ciggarette smell, power windows, lock, a/c.. here are some things tho.. 3rd gear makes a sound thats not normal she told me that its could need a shyncro or something like that. The headlights are stuck up..the rims are super ugly and its not a eclipse its a Laser. The only thing im worried about is the tranny? Should i wait it out longer, or go for it and trade cars?

personally i would wait for it... When you want something in a car, i dont think you should "settle for less", but thats imo.

yea i agree with you, mechanical wise its jus the 3rd gear thats faulty, the apperance and interior isnt a challenge for me cause every car i get my hands on i actually hook it up and make it look nice..But this is the most worse car ever in apperrance.... Tomm im gonna have my mechanic check it out real good in and out...The reason why i want this car cause its basicly free, even trade..so i hope tomm everything works out, i keep u guys posted! p.s. so far i read that the synchro is cheap, but i keep searching i cant find how much these people paid for labor for thin kinda job, does any1 have a clue...?

Well the parts may be cheap but you gotta crack open the tranny, and once your in there its kind of hard AFAIK. Might even be cheaper to drop a used tranny in there instead of fixing this one, thats how high labor can be for tranny repair.

About the trade, I'd think about it this way - Right now, you have a decent, running eclipse, you probably know it pretty well (problem-wise), but it's an NT. You could have a laser that smells bad, needs work, and is horrible in appearance, but it's turbo. I'd keep your car just for the fact that it runs well, and wait until you find a decent 1G Turbo AWD 5 speed - it will come!

Remember if its too good to be true (Auto NT for 5 speed AWD turbo) it probably is.

hey guys, well after my mechanic checked it out, he nod his head at me in a left n right motion, so basicly im staying with this car..u are right my car takes me where i need to go..i fixed all the bugs and did all the basic matainence on it..so why bother going through hell? I'll jus wait it out for a decent turbo model, in the meantime make my car as fun as it can possible be.. thanks guys..=D
