Well i'm taking her out to the track tomorrow for the first time. I was wondering if some of you guru's could give me some pointers based on the mods I have listed on my 97 gst's profile. For example good techniques on launching(rpm), shifting, etc. 3 months previously I owned a 300zx which is rear wheel drive and I know that driving a fwd turbo will be a big change in driving styles. Thanks for any positive input you can help me out with guys!!!

since you have a GST it's a lot more frustrating to launch than an AWD or RWD. when i took my car i held the RPM @ 2500 then dumped the clutch when the tree lit up. i had ACT 2100 street/strip and the car still had some traction problems and my second go around, i lowered my tire pressure to 25psi (stock wheels) and it gripped much better. my best run to date is 15 sec flat @ 93 mph (when the car was mostly stock). i haven't taken the car back to the track but i've added some new go-fast goodies that i'm experimenting with... *check my vehicle profile*

good luck... come back to this thread and post your time.

Well....I ran 15.4 at my best with the current mods on my profile. Man im missing my rear wheel right about now....not really jus when it comes to launching. But now at least I know where I stand and what I need to work on...thanks guys for all of the input!
