I have read all the posts about ARP Head Stud install but did not come across a definitive answer on these 2 matters:

1) I placed ARP lube on the top and bottom of the stud washers so they would not move while placing the cylinder head on the block. I also placed lube on the bottom of the stud nut. Based on my research placing lube on the bottom of the washer could have possibly distorted the amount of torque. In the previously read posts there is numerous mentions of installers using lube on both sides of the washer, and nobody posted that this was incorrect. What is everyone's thoughts?

2) This one is an easy one, are the ARP washers for the 4G63 concave? From what I remember installing them they were dished shape and did not notice any concave indention in the washers.

Looking forward to everyone's answers and opinions.

Thanks :)

Applying ARP lube to both sides won't hurt. It is for the "slipperyness", so you get the correct torque on the nut. After a few heat cycles, it is best to go around and recheck them and you are done. That's what I do. You may get some other replies, so be open to them.

1) I always just dab it on the underside of the nut, either way, it'll work and do what's intended, I wouldn't be concerned.

2) They are not normally concave but perhaps they are a little from the manufacturing process, if so I'd put the convex side towards the nut.
