Now the question, can someone measure the little mount area for a 2G rear view mirror? The part that slides on to the windshield mount itself.


Or if anyone knows, can you put a 2G rear view mirror into a 1G without changing the mount? I have a 1G I can measure against and found a good 2G mirror I can use.


I can’t find crap by searching either. I’ve tried a bunch of key terms.

Does that clip over an existing mirror or does it mount in place of the old one? I still need to know about the 2G one because if it fits it’s a viable and easy replacement. But that link is good too.

It clips on. I have the 13” and wish I would’ve got that one. My sun visors don’t clear it.

I’m not sure if 1gs have better rear visibility but the 2g mirror sucks imo.

They aren’t bad tbh. But aren’t stellar by any means. Problem is almost every single one is either cracked or has the middle reflective part faded so bad it’s just glass there now.


If DSMs were bigger I’d honestly bet there’d be good money in buying old mirrors and just cutting to fit new glass/mirror would be lucrative. Wouldn’t be hard either.

But yeah. Appreciate it! I actually found a very good condition 1G rear view on eBay but still am gonna look into this as it would be a cheap and easy replacement if it works. The mounting solution looks totally different though.
