My name is Noah and I am new to this website. I have owned a few mitsubishi's the first one was a 420-A automatic then I bought a 5 speed 420-A. Two years ago I bought a 7-bolt 4G63 at 14PSI then the motor crank walked on me two months later. I ordered a motor from JDMJapanesetigermotors.com and had it shipped directly. I did receive a 7 bolt motor but all it said was with a bigger cam angle sensor. The company couldn't explain this to me and I had to buy a wire from road race engineering to make the motor compatible or so the mechanic who installed my motor told me. The only reason I didn't install was because of time. So now the car acts like its running on two cylinders and after replcing all plugs and wires, the intake filter, fuel filter, new battery and terminals, hard piping throughout, and the tps I took the car to Buschur Racing. They told me I need the dsmlink V3 to POSSIBLY fix the car. :ohdamn: Any ideas or suggestions to get her running back to normal again? Thanks!!

Sounds like you have a 6 bolt swap and the correct plugs were not swapped accordingly.

Welcome buddy! Sounds like you have your hands full, (just like the rest of us). :D

Whenever you need help, you know who to ask.

Worst case you could get another cam and matching sensor and proper connections to get it running right. Or possibly remove and replace magnets on the end of camshafts. Engine may have been designed for custom harness and ecu, thus why dsmlink was recommended, I don't know my much about it tho. In theory it's supposed to give you control of the electrical systems, and allow you to mod(change electrical values) them for peak performance. But what you need is calibration and I don't know if it Is capable of that

Glad to be on the site and finally talk to some people that know dsm's. When the motor first came in my "mechanic" who was a joke. Told me the engine was a 6 bolt thus why I bought the wiring harness to make he correct connections. Upon calling motor company and going and looking at the engine I realize it is a 7-bolt. The harness was still installed because he said that was the only way to make that came angle sensor to work. The car would randomly misfire as if it went to two cylinders and wouldn't gain any boost pressure at all. I would downshift or upshift and the car would come out of it. The car would do this at completely random times. The last time it did the misfire I tried hitting to gas to power through it and now its as if the car is stuck in limp. When it originally did it I would unplug the tps and it would do it significantly less. Upon plugging it back in the car still did it even after a brand new tps. That's when I took it to buschar and they suggested that. I have a receipt for the engine and its supposed to only have 21k on the motor. The car is in immaculant shape and I just want her to be spooling again!!! :banghead:
