Zeitronix Logging/EGT Issues

I can't get my computer to log anything with the zeitronix AFR setup. My computer does not have a serial port connection so I purchased a USB adapter cable. When I hook up my USB cable from the black box to my Toshiba Laptop it recognizes new hardware.(I have windows XP) It tries to look for updates for the new hardware. If I click ok it then tells me to insert a CD if the hardware that I am installing came with one. I put in the 2.03 version CD and it tries to read it but then it will say it couldn't install the new hardware. It seems like it can't find the driver needed to run the logging software. I was also wondering if my COM port adjustment in the program could be adjusted to read through the USB port instead but it just goes from COM 1 to COM 8.

Another problem that I am having is my EGT reads 392 no matter what. I am using a EGT k type probe from TRE. I also used thermocoupler wire to run the extension from inside the car to the manifold. I have the wiring hooked up as Red being Ground and Yellow being positive. I tired to switch the wiring around to see if it would change and maybe I had it hooked up wrong but I get the exact same reading. I have the EGT probe in runner 1 4inches away from the head. This is installed on a 1990 Eagle Talon turbo. I tired to put this thread in tuning and engine management in the 4g63 section but I can't so hopefully this will work.

Just incase anyone finds this thread in a search. I needed to add drivers to my computer for the serial to USB cord I was using and then change what COM port zeitronix uses. I also found out that a 392 constant display by the EGT means that the zeitronix module isn't getting a EGT signal from the probe and a loose connection was to blame. Hope this helps somebody.
