Alright, i've been making plans for the exterior of my car for a while now and i have had my final choices for quite some time. I just have not had the money available to go ahead with that segment.

I have the chance to get some side skirts for under $100 (without shipping). The guy who has them tells me they do not fit well. He says that by eyeballing them they may be 1/2 an inch too short. Now my thinking is, for <$100 this shouldn't be a big problem. However, im wondering if it would be worth the shipping costs. I know peices this large usually cost more than $100 to ship.

What would you guys suggest?

1)Take em super cheap, try to fix em myself (i'm pretty handy rebuilding and fitting things)

2)Take em cheap, shell out the bread to have my bodyshop guy fit them

3)Pass on the deal all together

If i did go with option two, do you guys think it would be cheaper than just shelling out the initial cash for a set that have mostly guaranteed fit?

Personally.... id buy a different set. And ebay isnt the answer. The problem with most ebay kits, not all, is that they replica kits that are not measured straight off the car its self so they dont always fit perfectly. DO yourself a favor and spend the extra to by a name brand kit... less headache

I second that. I made the mistake of putting a cheap ebay kit on my car and I paied for it big time! It was a POS! The barely fit...the fiberglass was way too thin and it was cracked all the pieces. So I shelled out the money and got a decient kit from sencemotorsports.com and I'm satisfied. Just keep in mind that you get what you paid for. But if you are as handy as you say...you might be able to make them fit really well...and end up having a great deal. But its risky.

My kit was from Ebay. The side skirts had to be shaved down to allow the doors to open, but were a pretty good fit. The front however was a total mess. Luckily I got a hook up from the body guy because it took a lot of work. I have a different bumper on the front now that is better quality and I love it. Spend a little more now and it will save you. ;)
