I wanted to drive and race the pig at the shootout, but it may prove to be to complicated to finish. Even if the car does make it out, dont expect much. It will have 0 miles, and 0 tuning time under its belt. Couple that with a stock HG, stock head studs, and a nasty head out of some junkyard car, and you have an ill performing fusion machine. More pics to come when its done.

So why is this in the 'Bolt On' section? I've wanted to do this swap for a long time now, but I never imagined doing twins on it. Crazy.

Looks like it should be a lot of fun when it's done.

Care to share some specs on the turbos?

Why TT? Even with a 2.4 I would imagine you would have a hard time spooling both turbos enough to make GOOD power. I bet you probably could make more power with a single, larger turbo.

Even most poopra guys eventually go larger single rather than twin small turbos.

Just my though, still looks bad ass...

The RX7 transmission actually works with the 4g. The wideblock 2.4 (I forget the code) mates up with the bellhousing from a certain year b2600 mazda truck, which in turn fits on the Mazda turbo II and FD transmissions. So if you put it all together, you have a perfectly fitting 2.4 using a stock RX7 drivetrain.:thumb:

looks like an RX7 FC with a really really badly welded exhaust manifold

Yeah I hate to hate but the bubblegum wire welds aren't gonna hold the first hard pull. I don't even thing tig welding would hold a turbo on 2 runners without MAJOR bracing.

I would agree that the welds and fitment need work. It's hard to say how good/poor the welds really are by those pics but you can see how poor the fittment is and that is a very important part of building a manifold. But as far as a 2 runner manifold not holding a turbo that isn't true. Rx7's do it all the time. I've build some for single turbo fd's and didn't have any bracing. Ran it for years without it cracking at all.

Want to throw a supercharger on the intake side to get going? LOL, if you have a 10k redline that thing just might be a lot of fun. GOOD LUCK, a few have tried this, and as far as I know all have failed.

Because I have already gone 150+traps in my old FWD cheapo street car. I alike being different.

As for the crappy welds on the manifold-I know. I have 54$ dollars into the pigROFL Its more of an experiment than anything else. If it works- Great! If not-oh well, back to the 42.

Not ragging on the idea in any way. Just the work a little LOL.

Is there any reason you went with twin 50's instead of a different turbo? I'm just kinda interested in how you chose to use those turbos out of the millions available.

Do you think it will spool those turbos reasonably with gasses from only two cylinders go to each turbo.

You guys have to remember, the turbine housings are smaller, as well as both of the wheels. Theoretically, it should spool up faster than a comperable single setup because of the lower inertia. There's more exhaust outlet area as well.

That being said, I feel a big single will be more efficient, but I respect what this guy is doing.

So what kind of transmissio is it anyway? And is it FWD or AWD, or RWD??

Cool cool dude...

I bet that turbo in the back is going to make it really hot back there in the engine bay, and possibly even feel it thru the firewall...but if it's mostly for short races then it shouldn't matter. Just lookin at the fact you have 2 turbos, one is way back in the engine bay. The stock setup the turbo is in the front, close to the radiator and where air can get in, and there is only one. And my engine bay gets so hot you burn your hand on the dipstick checking the oil. Any ideas on helping to keep it cool in there, or is it not an issue becuse it's just for drag runs mostly?

:rocks:

Did you read my post at all? It's an RX7 FC with a stock rwd rx7 TII transmission, mated up wtih a B2600 bellhousing to a wideblock 2.4.

BTW, I'm not giving away any crazy secrets. This is on the RX7 forums, and the project zero site.

This will be intresting how it works out. It looks like those are ssac turbos also so it will be cool to see how it performs.
