Hi Tuners,

I love the look of XXR's 527 wheels on DSM's but Im having a tough time trusting them as they are a cheaper wheel and could fail under high stress loads. So im looking for a similar wheel that can take high stress.

I have done a bit of searching, but i cant fond anything too close to them. Just wanted to see if anyone has seen or knows of wheels like these that are a little more on the performance side. Im ok with spending a little more, but I dont plan on dumping 3000 on wheels.

Thanks in advance for you time!

I have heard good reviews on them and they seem like a solid street wheel, but I should be putting around 600hp to the wheels on a daily driver. Thats why im worried they may let go under hard acceleration or hard cornering.

I have a set of XXR 527's on my MR2 (V6 swapped w/ 260 whp) and I've run 6 autox and 2 track days since I installed them last year, I've had no problems so far. I'm actually looking at picking up a set for my STi to use as my everyday rims. I was skeptical at first too, but for the price/look/assorted offsets I figured it was worth a try, happy so far. Plus, they're cheap to replace if I bend or bust one.

Rota G Force maybe? Rotas are relatively cheap as well. I've seen plenty of people with high HP builds daily them though.

That will look great, you going same offset as the one pictured? if so what would that offset be? i've been eyeing the xxr 530's the 527's would be my next choice thou. love the stance of that red eclipes.

Those look nothing alike

XXR's IMO are a decent wheel!

I believe the World Champion Time Attack Evo ran these....

I'm staying away from Rota's.. only because of bad personal experience (cracked the rim). And not a fan that all of most or all of them are knock-off wheels.

Enkei RSM9 (Around $450 each)

Enkei J10 (Much better priced at around $150 each)

Enkei RS05RR (I don't think it's available here yet, but should cost around $600 each)

Any one of them would be miles safer than running some cheap knock-off XXR wheel.

Similar, but not a "replica". Notice how the TC105N's spokes are "grouped" They also don't have the large ribs down both sides of the spokes. None of those Enkei wheels look anything like these. XXR doesn't make knock-offs sorry.

Also, when the Tilton time attack Evo uses them (one of the fastest in the world right now), I think you can be sure you're safe.

No theyre a knockoff of the wedssport tc105n.

I'm glad I came across this. I've been looking at getting some of these wheels so I can get some drag radials but I was also worried about them holding up. What's the offset on the red 2g? They seem to really stick out.

Heres a little more info from the thread over at Stanceworks.

"I'm running 225/40/18 - I could prob not rub at all w 215s but I like more meat if possible and there is already a healthy stretch. I didn't modify the strut towers at all - just fender treatment. If you are hitting your upper control arm your wheels are prob too high an offset. Bring the wheels out w spacers and pull the fender and you won't hit at all." -User name 'Animal'

"xxr 527's 18x9.75 et20 225/40/18 - its they hyperblack"

Almost a 10" wheel!!! with a 20 offset thats a FAT wheel! Im trying to research this Time attack evo to see how fast it ran. Im also finding quite a few good reviews on the 527's. they seem like a lagit wheel so far
