ok, here my prob and i cant figure out whats worng..... for normal everyday driving, the car is fine. when i hit the acceleration pedal half way, its fine (this is roughly 10 psi). but i floor the accelation pedal (gets to about 15 psi), something weird starts happening.... it wont accelerat any more. it picks up and then it lets go, like somehting is slipping in there. its so annoying im soo pissed, i hope its not crankwalk!
 
BCS = boost control silenoid, it's your stock boost controller, and it's located on top of your air canister.:thumb:
 
with all this talk of faulty (possibly) spark plugs, im suprised nobody mentioned the coilpack. my engine was misfiring for me, so i changed the plugs and wires, and it was still missfiring, though not enough for the ECU to recognize it and give me a check engine light. It started to get real bad, and I amlost got into an accident one night cause my car just rolled into the intercetion, with no real acceleration. If I drove normally, no problems, but when I would accelterate real hard- it would studder.

just thought id throw the coil pack up there.
 
so when you put a manual boost controller you take off your bcs???

OMG!!! how did u fix ur problem?! cuz thats exactly what my car is doing!!!!
 
I replaced the coil pack...

Its the square box onto of your engine that the sparkplug wires go into. Cost me like $70 at AutoZone, and was like $120 at C.A.P. Changed it myself in all of 5 minutes. Just make sure when your done the sparkplug wires are lined up in the same order as before.
 
seems everybody on here has this problem including me!.. anybody taken it to mitsu on this matter and what have they said... i think im going to go ahead and take mine up there.. last time i asked them to check it out while they were doing other work tho the guy looked me in the face without laughing and said "seems like your turbo is not hooked up"

I took it to a Mitsu dealer the second time I had the problem...I replaced the plugs and the problem only got worse so I took it to the dealer. THEY REPLACED THE PLUGS AND WIRES and gave it back to me running great!!!
 
when I had the problem, the mitsu dealer told me it was my plugs and wires that were bad, but I had just changed them so I knew they were ok. they wanted $85 for plugs and wires, +instal. I may have let them go ahead and do it for me, but they already raped me out of $70 to turn off my ABS light. Anyways, they would have charged me well obver $100 for it, and it still wouldnt have been fixed. Damn Mitsu bastards.
 
see they said that to me also... so i payed them the 65 for diagnosis and said it was plugs and wires, so i went home and replaced them and took it back still doing the same thing.. they checked it for free this time but they looked at me with a stragiht face and said my turbo isnt hooked up the second time.. so i said screw them and found a good tuner around here. said he thinks its my ecu (i have the wrong 1 any ways) so hes gonna diag it all before he charges anything :D
 
if you are saying that u hit 15 psi and it doesn't go anywhere it's mostlikely your clutch. I just burns up when the car hits the high boost. Shit you have to get one anyways, so you might as well do it now.
 
i have something similar,like when im coming out in first gear im accelerating regular,when im about 4000rpm the car bogs,then i punch it and the engine makes a half second pause like if im double clutchin ,then WOOOOOSHHHH!!!! spolls up like crazy and slig shots all the way till like 6500 rpm hauling ass ...i wanna know why it bogs and then makes that pause when i punch it,i allready changed my plugs BPR6ES's,has any one exprienced this??? thanks....
 
I kinda had the same problem years ago. I cleaned my k&n and problem gone. Since then I clean my k&n regularly and have not seen the problem since. Hope this helped.
 
What do all you guys have your plugs gapped at? You are all talking about pushing some 15psi+ during heavy acceleration. It sounds very much like blow-out. Please post what your plugs are gapped at.
 
Im having the same problem, was wondering if anyone ever found a solution. I logged my car when this is happeneing any my timing drops down to 2-3degrees, i cant accelerate past 3k rpms in any gear.
 
Yeah i found the problem with my car, when i installed my pte scm61 i didnt have the cash to get a intake tube so i just hooked the maf up to the turbo by a single 3" coupler. I added a 3" tube about 7-8" long to it and now the car runs fine.

thats good to know but something else is wrong with my car Im sick of it :barf: whats the use of a dsm if u cant drive it fast :mad: or atleast running good

my car acts like it has a boost leak but ive done numerous boost leak tests and it holds boost just fine my plugs are ngk 6es gapped at .28 and i got accel wires i check the coil pack and its fine

maybe cas or coolant temp sensor or bad timing or bad ecu???????
