In this article I will show you how to rewrap your door panel inserts and center console arm rest.
With this article I am assuming you know how to remove both your door panels and center console arm rest. We'll start with the tools and materials needed to do this:
Long and short Phillips Screwdriver
Needle Nose Pliers
Paint Scraper
1/8-1/4" foam (I bought a yard and had lots left over)
Fabric of your choice (I bought 3 yards and had lots left over)
Spray Glue (3M Super77 or Super90).
We'll start with the door panel. Take your Phillips Screw drivers and remove all the screws.
There are some hidden screws, I didn't get pictures unfortunately as my camera decided to act up. Here's the door insert removed though.
Now remove the old fabric, grab a corner and start to pull the fabric away. If you go carefully you might get the fabric off without damaging the OEM foam then you won't have to replace it (I chose to replace it).
OEM fabric removed.
Now it's time to strip the OEM foam off. This step is up to you, if you didn't damage the foam when removing the OEM fabric then you can skip this. However, the new foam is more comfortable imo.
You will need both the paint scraper and needle nose pliers, also, note this is VERY messy.
Start by pulling the staple out of the back of the insert with the pliers.
Then start scraping, this is MESSY!
Finished!
