My brother and I are starting a club up. What do you guys think of the name Highline Racing? We thought of Fon-du Racing before, but for some reason it jsut doesnt click. Let me know what you think. My brother and I will have a designed website for the club.

yea, Fon-du doesn't sound right at all. Highline sounds alright. Is your club just gonna be limited to DSM's?

No, our club will be limited to everything. SRT-4s, DSMs, EVO's, Subaru's, etc.......

If anybody has a mini dv video bring it along. Andy (talontsidriver) would like to get multiple shots and angles from the meet. Also he will provide a mini dv tape as long as u give it back to him at the end of the meet.

I can bring a dvc :thumb:

When are the decals and window stickers gonna be for sale?

We are looking into it right now. Trying to figure out a design as well.

Yes I am going to design a few logos today hopefully and post them up and get some input on them. Also Alex, it's not Highline Racing, its "Highline Motorsports."

And hopefully we can get some small window decals really soon. Would any of you be willing to donate a few bucks for these are I am sure we won't be able to get them for free. Thanks ALOT!

alright, not to be all big headed or anything, but assumung you would want me in your club or whatever, what are the advantages of joining? I've seen so many car clubs around here that just piss me off becasue they dont even do anything. They just print off some stickers and so they can say they have a club like its some freakin gang or something. Just my .02.

Well, This is what I would like this "club" to be like. Annualy meets, where we can just grill out and share stories and what not about DSM's or any other types of cars for that matter. Also we can help eachother out as far as fixing our stupid DSM's because they break every other day. And if possable, I would also like to set up some autocross meets where we can rent out a big open parking lot and get some cones and have a good time. Also I will be putting together a website with a forum where we can all share ideas.

Think if it as a Team, not just another club.

P.S. DSMCamaro- you are gonna join if you want that 2g exhaust manifold, hehe.

I probley couln't have put it better myself Andy. Andy and I will discuss more about this on the weekend while were picking up a couple cars this weekend in Chicago. Another too that I would like to point out, I dont want this club or whatever you want to call it just another club out there. As Andy stated, get an annual meet and maybe rent a track a couple times in the summer. Another thing too, I would like too see fellow DSMers get more involved and learn more about their DSMs. I want them to benefit from this. Go to a meeting and meet a friend and get to know the people that live around your area. Have a good time.

I would also like to get the name "Highline Motorsports" accross and maybe start a buisness off it. (Just a suggestion).

Basically guys, I see Highline Racing more than just "another club".

Just talked to the owner of Mobile Link (They do a lot with car audio) and he said he would not mind coming to the meet and getting involved. So those of you with loud systems might be able to have an audio competition.

if you need help with decals, i work at a Vinyl shop part-time and can help out, maybe get a better price on things. keep me informed on this part of the deal....

as for an audio competition, i also manage the Stevens Point Mobile Link location, and we will definetely help out if anyone is interested in an Audio competition. we have a full spec Audio Control RTA meter, we can do SPL and SQ testing with it.

there are tons of local auto crosses going on are here all summer long. I know for a fact there will be a few more at Golden Sands this summer, and hopefully a lot at Shawano as well. for those that have not been there, it is a go-kart track that is opened up to cars on a regular basis, and IT ROCKS! i ran my other car there last summer and had a complete blast! i plan to return to the Shawano events as much as possible! for an update on these events, and other local events, you can also check out these forums: http://p2.forumforfree.com/cwscc.html it's a group of mostly local car guys that are into racing quite heavily. right now they are organizing a trip to the AutoBahn Country Club in Ill, a privately owned roadcourse in Ill. quite the place!

hope this all works out good for the meet. when is it again? i missed it a few pages back...

thanks all, talk again soon

Yeah that would be great. We were thinking of going through sign-a-rama because my friend Jesse knows either the owner or something. I am working on a decal to be made up and as soon as i come up with one I will let you know.

THANKS A LOT.

Glad to help out with decals... been doing it for almost 10yrs now, so anything i can do just let me know!

Also, in late July, CWSCC is hosting a "Rally 'Round the Lake". I'm sort of taking up organizing it. but here's the quick and dirty: July 28,29,30th, Leave early friday morning from St. Pt., take pretty much all backroads up to the Mackinaw Bridge in MI and spend the night there, then Saturday drive down to Chi-Town and see the Hot Imports Nights car show, stay over night there (chicago) and drive home to St Pt on sunday. that's the quick version, i'm assuming $500-$600 per car, including gas, food, hotel, HIN tickets. so bring a friend, and it's roughly a $300 weekend with over 1000miles of fun!

check out this thread for full details: http://p2.forumforfree.com/aka-rally-06-vt436-cwscc.html?highlight=
it starts out as the AKA Rally, but quickly changes into our much cheap and more localized version. please contact me directly with any questions or if your interested in attending.

thanks
~Kurt

Sounds like a really fun time. I am really thinking of doing that run around the lake. I just hope my un-reliable DSM is up to it. Have to bring the tool box. I will talk to ya later for more details about it.
