so far, there are NO schedule events at GSS yet. Tom says he "needs to get off his lazy ass and schedule one" but last time he posted on CWSCC forums about it, nobody seemed interested, so he didn't schedule one.

Check the fvscc.com forum. There has been discussion on there about it. He says "THERE WILL BE ONE" just a matter of when.

Theres also autoX here in Milwaukee at Miller stadium ... It's like $35 entry for non scca members. I believe the schedule is every-other Sunday.

Just thought I'd throw that one up in the air
especually seeing I live a matter of blocks away and gas is expensive

I dont' know the area up there too well, but are there any roads where there arn't many
people on usually that have some nice curves? A day cruise on one of those would be fun.

And anybody from milwaukee wants to follow me up can. I go up to wis rapids quite often. I know how to get there, but not the whole area heh.

I vote we get all the ppl in the milwaukee area... or whoever we can toghether, and roll up in 1 big group.

Then we can each help fix each other's car as they break one by one .

...I know if we drive in a group theres gonna be a few tow trucks that just end up following us the whole way hoping to get lucky...

anybody know of where i can find emission laws online? I was failed on my underhood inspection because the Injen Intake I've had for 6 years has finally become "illegal." Never had a problem before this but now they say it is an 'exposed filter element.' This all happened about a week after I cleaned out the garage and the girlfriend made me get rid of the stock intake assembly I had been holding onto for just this type of occasion. Also in that box was the INJEN shiny sticker with the carb No. on it. I'm not sure if that would have even helped me seeing that I am residing outside of california. Anyone have a solution? I would apreciate any help, thanks.

I failed emissions and gotten pulled over for not having a front plate (no fix it ticket), and a u-turn... And I wasn't given any bullshit about failing emissions..

Next time you register your vehicle, say you keep it in something like jefferson county or wherever they don't have emissions . Get a friend that you can "use their address".

I dunno how it's done out there, but here in Milwaukee, it WILL NOT come up under the cops computer weather or not you failed Emissions.... The problem is that the DMV will not let you re-new the stickers on your plate without having passed emissions (which DOES appear on the DMV's computers).

Thats not an option for me right now, I was thinking that all i need to do is build a bok around my filter so its not exposed.

This should be fun then in a month. I'll be coming down to Whitewater for school, so my address will be in stevens point, so i will keep my lack of emissions just how they are. Anybody on here live near there, say Ft. Ak or even Lake Geneva?

Thats actually been illegal for a very long time. Cold Air's get away with it because on inspection the element is outside of the engine bay. Building a box will work and so will just extending the pipe so the filter rests outside of the bay. Also, registering up north doesn't work as well as it used to. Now, you still have to take emissions, but only once when its first purchased, then its the free for all again.

You also don't need to have an address up there at all. Just the county name, nothing ever gets mailed there, since its your "Cabin" and your permanent mailing address is where you currently live.

DSM Meet, looking to schedule it so it falls on an auto-x here in Wisconsin Rapids. Looking towards September sometime. I will post back when I know the exact date of the auto-x.

Wrong. My friend just registeredh is talon about 2 months ago, and he did not have to take any emissions in rapids.

How is the weather up there in september?

He should be getting one in the mail, I got mine for my hatch about 3 months after reg. and they've been trying to crack down on it alot more.

I wonder if I can keep my car registered in Michigan.

I'll try to make the next meet in Wisconsin Rapids, though I might not drive my DSM. I'll try to bring up my wife's BMW. It's so much more fun to drive long distances than the loud, uncomfortable DSM.

One thing I'm curious about. Do I also need to fabricate a top to said 'box' or is the two sided partition enough to satisfy those vultures. I would think the hood being closed would serve this purpose. Do you agree?

Hey guys.. can we set up a meet maybee closer in between each of the major meeting spots...perhaps in like Whitewater. Rapids is a 5hr drive from milwaukee and i know more people would come if it is closer.
I broke my car so i will probably show up with a non-broken in motor so i dont want to drive that far. sorry. I really want to get a meet in this year. im getting angry because I cant.
