well the weather channel just stated that were getting snow tmw and wednesday.

im sure it wont be building up on the road but its getting colder and colder.(mid 40s) and im gonna ditch the summer tires and put winter tires on sooner or later
im trying to go as thin as i can with the stock rims so will 205/45/17 will be good for stock gsx wheels?

I think 17 is the wheel size. what size wheels? I think stock 1g are 16 inch. measure your wheels.

i know my wheel size is 17. its stated 205/45/17on my title:rolleyes: i just need to know if 205s will be good on my stock wheels

If you want decent winter tires for a pretty good price, look at the Continental Conti extreme Contacts. I ran them on my car last winter here in Erie, PA and I never got stuck or had problems with them. I slid off the road once (unexpected black ice and a sharp bend at 40mph) but I pulled it right off the snowy bank and out of the ditch with no problems.

I was able to drive my car places were some 4x4 pickups with mud tires couldn't. I think these will be fine until the snow gets up to bumper depth. They come with 10/32" of tread new, so there's plenty of grip.

They handle nicely in the wet weather to due to the tread design. I never hydroplaned with them. I also drive smart... I'm running 215/50/17.

Even dry weather handling is decent. They were a bit loose in the summer, but what can you expect from a winter biased all-season.

The 205 size will be fine. Narrow = good for snow.
However, I'd not really be keen on a 45 aspect. I'd want a little more meat and clearance for my snow ride.

thank you thats what ive been trying to say
thats exactly why i want to go from 235 to 205 :thumb:

Some, not all. ROFL ROFL ROFL

Mostly just slick driveways. The rear end of the trucks would just slide around and the fronts couldn't get enough grip. The more balanced AWD car was able to get a better grip. Plus, the trucks were just too torque-ee. Tap the gas and the wheels broke loose. We get more ice storms than snow storms around here. The melting during the days and refreeze at night leaves everything slick.

It's all about control. :thumb: :sneaky:

You can get them in low profile...and they have a blackwall on the other side. Im dead serious...they are the best tires I ever had In snow or rain.

wow i must've been f ed up or something. for some reason i read it as a BFG drag radial

The Continental Conti extreme Contact were voted the best handling all season tire in the snow. That was last year, but they are still great tires. I myself have put them on two cars at my shop and while putting them on, they just look like really great tires. Thats one of the advantages of working at a tire shop: you can tell which tires are crap and which should be good. My manager had some put on his car and he just loves them.
I personally will be riding some Goodyear Eagle GTHRs this season. They have pretty good traction in the snow and drive just fine when its summer time. Not nearly a snow tire, but I don't believe I need a snow tire because Denver, Colorado seems to only have snow the day of and maybe a few days after. It melts pretty quick.

Find a set of Blizzaks. If my LT1 got though a Chicago winter, anything can.
