Over my Christmas break I am going to install a fmic. The question that I have is what will fit? I have a 12x30x3 and I also have a 32x30.5x3(out of a tractor trailer) I got the big intercooler so that I could make a cooler for my turbocharged mustang(which is not done yet) I actually got my eclipse just to drive while I worked on my mustang and I fell in love with it and started working on it instead  . I would like to use the 12x30 core but if it wont fit I will make one out of the big one. I have no problems cutting the bumper support or whatever, but I would like to keep from cutting the bumper cover if I can. In otherwords I will cut it if I cant see it . I searched the forums but I could not find anyone that listed sizes under a stock bumper cover. I appreciate any opinions and advice. :thumb: :dsm:

anything can fit, just some takes more work...take off your bumper and mock it up to see whats going to hit where. that is about the best you can do if you did not measure before buying

I didn't buy anything for this car I have like 5 diffrent intercoolers in my building, I was just trying to get some insight before I start because if I am going to have to fab one I will have to go get a sheet of aluminum and some more TIG rods to make endtanks with. I can figure out "see what fits" myself. I was looking for someone that maybe has a 12x30x3. This would save alot of time over "mock it up and see what fits." :dsm:

Greater volume = more space to compress = less response. Look at how small the stock sidemount is, and how effective it is. Pointless to go wild on the FM size. The slight amount of cooling gain is obviated by the volume of the intake.
