My T-25 blew, So I have a Big 28 on its way. My Exhaust is stock along with my bov and fuel system. If I keep it at stock boost levels is it ok to run such a restrictive exhaust with the upgraded turbo?

You'll be fine, as long as you keep the boost level moderate. Dont go crazy, and you'll be fine. A Big 28 is roughly a 16g size turbo right? If so, 15 psi on stock fuel system would be suitable.

The only possible problem you may have is the fuel system (specifically the pump) otherwise no other factor will affect the operation of the turbo. Your restrictive exhaust will hender performance but it wouldn't prevent the turbo from working.

Yea just keep the boost under 15 psi and you will be ok. I would recomend a 255 pump and then a 3" turbo back before turning up the boost to prevent damage to the turbo. You will see a noticable diffrence in your spoolup time and your top end power with the 3'' exhaust.

It is very tempting but you'll have to keep the boost down until you take care of some of those restrictions.

I've read some reviews on that and you will acually notice a larger lag until you get the exhaust. Get exhaust first even when you are keeping under 15 psi, then when you want to turn it up get the Walbro FP upgrade-

Yea, Jeffrey ive read the same, ive heard that when you stomp on the gas your gonna have to look at your watch for a sec, whistle a few notes then hold on.... your off! ;)

Dont forget to do the fuel pump Rewire if you have not dont it. It will help some.

I thought that someone did a test on this and found out that it was a waste, with or with out the rewire they got a constant 14 volts or something like that.

Depends. I know when we logged my car, it would drop at WOT under boost. The rewire would help on my car from detonation in higher RPMs. Therefore i could hold more boost longer.

Maybe its car to car? its cheap, so why not?

Yup, you should be find stock. It will pull a little bit harder, have a little bit more turbo lag(nothing serious. You won't miss it), and have more top end power(t-25 sucks for top end :barf: ). Leave you boost close to stock and you should be alright.

I think re-wiring your pump is a waste of time. Just spend the money on a 190 or 255. To me, it's not worth the time/effort it would take to do it.

Stock BOV will hurt you with any turbo including the T25. It leaks air at pressures from as low as 12 psi. Future upgrades should include a bov, fuel system upgrades, and a free flowing exhaust. I'm guessing you already have some form of boost control?

I didn't notice anymore lag from my t25 to a ported t28. But thats me, personally if you want to go ahead and just put it on but don't do anything else before you change your bov and possibly a boost gauge.

Just leave your boost alone and you will be fine. You aren't going to get the performance out of it that you would like, but that is better than having no turbo in the meantime. Just follow the tuning guide on this site and you will be amazed at your performance gains when you do decide to get the supporting mods.
