So this guy is offering me some 18" G-Games by Rays wheels. But I just checked and the offset on the wheels in 42! He's offering them to me for a great price and I really like them, but the offset won't work on my 2g from what I'm told??? I'm pretty sure they will rub. Could I use a spacer?
Any ideas to making these work? And if they are made to work would they look bad on the car?
Thanks!

Right now i'm running a 17", 7" wide, with a +40 offset. I have 215/50 tires and i'm not rubbing at all. However I'm not lowered, so that might change things for you if you are.

On a 7.5" wheel - they should fit. I'm running 7.5" 17" rims with 225/45/17 tires on my car with a +48mm offset, with 5mm spacers, effectively making the offset +43mm - and they fit okay, although I get a little bit of rubbing on the front - which a proper alignment should fix. So I don't see why they wouldn't fit for you. If you do have rubbing problems, spacers would work fine - a 5mm spacer would give you a nearly ideal +38mm offset, and it shouldn't stick out or anything unless you go with some ridiculously huge spacer.

Thanks!
Anyone else... I hate to just buy things without researching them. Usually if I don't do my homework on what I'm about to buy it usually doesn't fit.

He lives like an hour away, so test fitting is kinda out of the question. :(
But if push comes to shove I can just get wheel spacers... right?
Thanks!

BTW, he said that they fit his '99 Mitsubishi Diamante with no problems. Also I went to Konig's website because I knew they'd have offsets listed for my car. It said a +40 is prefect for my car, and that's what I have. It also said the '01 Celica (car that they are on now) has a recommended offset of +40, just like my car... and he has +42 on it right now. So I'm kind of thinking they should fit my car.

Are the wheels dual drilled for the Celica's 5X100 AND for your 5X114.3?

225's will be an easy fit with those wheels. You will have approximately enough clearance between the wheel and the knuckle for a weasel to squirm through there.

This is serious material for "Redneck Analogy of the Year" stuff. :thumb:

Thanks everyone! I just got an email from the guy after I wrote the word 'thanks' and so I'll be getting them before this weekend hopefully. I'll post pictures for all of you to see! Also, my stickers are coming off!!!
