I know that some remote start system tap into a coil pack wire, maybe someone used an injector wire instead. Have you followed it into the car and seen where its hooked up at?

Sorry i dont know the order LOL. Ill check out to see where it goes today. It looks horrible though so id like to get rid of it. I do have command start and the alarm system maybe its used for one of those? Or even a guage or pusle reading like 90rslazer said. Ill check out where it leads.

ITS 100% USED FOR THE COMMAND START SO IT KNOWS WHEN THE ENGINES RUNNING ,IF YOU WANT TO CLEAN UP THE ENGINE BAY USE THE RPM SIGNAL ON THE ECU PIN 21 BIG HARNESS , I NEVER WANTED TO CUT MY COIL PAC UP OR THE INJECTORS LOOKS TRASHY IMO ( YOU CAN EVEN USE THE RPM SIGNAL ON THE BACK OF THE GAUGES

I NO THE THREAD IS OLD THOUGHT I POST ANYWAYS FOR FUTURE ISSUES

ok. caps not needed. it seems to be the tach signal for an aftermarket R/S system. pretty poorly installed i have to say.

id check under the dash and check for a brain system. if you dont have the aftermarket remotes or anything, dont worry about it.

edit: what im confused with, is why the wire continues after the scotch-lock toward he PS?
