When driving, at around 30mph and higher, I have a slight vibration. more-so a hum than a vibration. I thought it may have been my tires, but i replaced the fronts, and i still am having the problem. im replacing the rears this week. Anything that may be a common problem?

Try to determine if the vibration/hum is coming from the front or rear, most likely your hubs/bearings as 805DSM stated. Had that problem on my last DSM. Replaced the terrible rear hubs, only to find out the fronts needed replacement too. My current one even need new ones. Could also be an unbalance/ improperly balanced tire(s). But I'd go with the hubs being the issue.

I have had a similar issue when I had a bad axle, just make sure the boots are not ripped causing one to be dry.

possibly fuel pump related? may be a longsho but when you say a "humming" noise i generally think of fuel pumps. Usaully bad fuel pumps will "hum" when they are over heating and on there way out.

just a thought

thanks for the input. my question would be, why would the fuel pump be wheel speed based?

ok, so a little more into this issue. It is getting worse, louder than before. when i am on a backroad, and the weight is off of the passenger side, the sound goes away. so i know its passenger side. I want to say its the front because i can feel it in my steering wheel. the only thing im concerned with, and im not sure if its related or not, but my car is getting harder and harder to get into gear.... would low fluid cause my carrier bearing to whine?

(manual transmission)

sounds like a wheel bearing. if you think it could be the carrier bearing, one way to rule it out is to make sure you aren't low on fluid.

Have you tried checking on your brakes? It might be warped or the pads need replacement.
I have the same problem too. Had pepboys checked it and they said to replace the tires. And i did. But haven't replace the rotors yet. but i doubt it.
So maybe its the wheel bearings
Also check for your stuts and mounts

what will a shop charge to replace the wheel bearing? ballpark quote i guess. i havent had a spare 15 minutes this week to find out...
