New to tuning, but this doesn't seem right.. with 26 counts of knock, my timing should have been pulled a lot more, or am I wrong?

RPM : 6031
BOOST : 12lbs.
KNOCK : 26
o2's : .89v
TIMING : 18 adv

Any help would be great, I'm not sure what to make of this log. What could be wrong, bad knock sensor?

You're only at 12 psi, that's not a lot of airflow.

Timing is based on airflow, rpm, and knock. and a few other little things. With a low airflow (boost) setting you will still see higher timing.

That much timing is about right for that much knock and airflow.

Looks like your running lean. I didnt bother to check your mods but if you have an AFC, then try to richen it up till your Timing is in the 20's, and knock preferably 0-3.

I am by no means a expert, just know what ive gathered from the forumes here.

It is way easier to tune and get a correct log reading when you have the boost higher than 15 psi. When you log your car at low boost levels, you will get huge knock readings and high timing readings from time to time. THis will not always be the case but it does happen. Turn up the psi and see if it gets worse or better. This will give you an idea if you are running lean or not.

This is totally ass-backwards. You want to tune at low psi, it's easier.

You're cracking me up today, kyle.

Getting tired of the same old questions, are you? :D

I could have sworn I had updated my profile, but apparently not. All that I have in right now is a big16g, 550's, an afc and of course, a datalogger. I removed the other things in my profile and upgrading/switching to a different setup. I just wanted to make sure, considering I am very new at tuning (a few days), and I know that the more knock I have, the more timing will be pulled.. and for 26 counts of knock, and my timing adv only at 18, seemed kind of wierd.

Thanks for the responses, I'll post my next log after I richen it up a bit.

1990 cars tend to show slightly leaner O2's than other years. I recomend shooting for .88 to .92

The next time you do a logging run can you also see what the max Karmann Hz reading you get? Check the "Monitor" section on the AFC, as the logger can't show anything over 1606 Hz.

I'll be sure to get the max kar reading along with the log.

first thing first, 90's "code" is diffrent. if you have an "eprom" ecu
upload the e931 code from a 91-92 ecu if you can on a new eprom. Its a lot better.
as far as the knock goes EVERY car is diffrent there are MANY variables to consider.
like tuning for knock if you have a small turbo its easier to tune knock out in low boost if you have a large turbo (20G or larger) its MUTCH easier to tune high boost than low.
if you have never tuned /had a BIG turbo you would'nt know that.
