Wierd clutch hissing sound?

I just put my motor back in and have about 2500 miles on the motor and clutch. The clutch was brand new when I put the motor back in. Now when I have the clutch pedal out I can here a hissing noise coming from under the car around the tranny. When I hit the clutch the noise goes away. The clutch grabs hard and seems to be working fine. It just makes a wierd noise when the pedal is out. Anyone know what this could be?

Sounds like its the throw out bearing to me. Some TOB noise is normal, I've seen brand new bearings make a sort of quiet 'hissing' noise. Was it replaced with your clutch? How loud is it?

Its not too too loud. If the windows are up or stereo is on you cannot hear it. When I rebuilt the motor the clutch was reused but it only had about 6000 miles on all the clutch components. I had it all inspected and they said the clutch looked brand new. The through out bearing seemed to be in great condition. I did all the work myself and knew I should of replaced the bearing even though it had low miles. Im going to be really upset if I have to pull the tranny again. It didnt make any noise untill about a week ago so I think it may be going out.

Looked at my first post did not mean to say clutch was brand new, it was actually lightly used.
