He guys. I got a 97 talon tsi awd. No mods except for 14b turbo hks bov an armed dsmlink v2.5 I recently been running dsm link for two month without tune. My wideband just came in so I can tey to start to tune. I purchased an inovated lc1 wideband kit. Read some thread here and other dorums but got me kinda confused. Yes there alot ops on front rear or just weld a bong. But was reading and got lost when they was talking about the cat. Not ro have one or something in that mix. I have a full stock exhaust all cat and reaonators are in. My question is can I run the run and install wide band sensor in place of my front 02 sensor spot. Thanks for yoyr help in advance I greatky appreciate fellow dsmers helping other dsmers.

You can install it in the front o2 spot bit only if the wide and can support narrowband simulation. If it has a 0-1 volt output it will support it. But a much simpler route would just be welding in a bung before the cat. But usually you have to get it welded 10° or more above horizontal because the moisture will cause premature failure.

Thanks for input. So I won't have an inaccurate reading cause my exhaust still has the cats and resonators? Picking up my wideband from post office tomorrow since the never came to drop it off.

It will read fine as long as its before the cat...however, being in the front O2 bung supposedly reduces the life of the sensor due to the heat, but I have no personal experience with that and plenty of people do it.

Yes. My wideband package said I had to install the o2 sensor at least 36 inches away from the turbo. But your right there are plunty of guys running the wideband o2 in the front location

If you can move the sensor alittle farther down stream from the oem location. I've killed a few sensors having it in the stock location, when my next motors done ill be moving it back alittle. It also has alot to do with the type of gas you run. I had no issues on pump gas, but once I went to higher octane and even better race gas (110 leaded) my sensors didn't last to long. I think if your running pump gas you should be just fine.
