why is my alt over charging my battery

My battery is being over charged causing it to boil over I've looked everything over and can't figure it out any thoughts

It's simple. It failed on you and it's time for a replacement.

The alternators on the 4G63 use an internal voltage regulator and if the voltage it wacked the regulator failed. That's what my last one did, popped my silverstars and boiled my red top.

I've had the same issue with a replacement autozone alternator where the voltage was actually around 19v rather than the normal 13.8v - 14.2v.

The internal regulator failed and was causing it to severely overcharge and it eventually killed my battery and caused all sorts of battery acid to do a good amount of damage to my engine bay's paint.

yea thats what it was. thanks guys.It was hitting 19-20 volts.
